Title: Need Help choosing a keyboard that'll fit my color scheme and budget!
Post by: GunsAreOP on Sun, 24 August 2014, 23:17:31: Hi everyone, I'm new here, so hopefully I managed to find the right place to post :rolleyes:

Anyways, I'm looking to buy a TenKeyLess keyboard that has MX Blue Switches, and my budget is 150$.
I've heard about the Poker II and CM Storm Quickfire TK or Rapid, but I'm really not sure what to go with.
I'd like the base of the keyboard (I think thats what it's called) White, and have the keycaps be white and electric blue, sorta like this:

But I'd like to add a few more white keycaps. So, would this be possible for me to do with a Budget of 150$?

Ducky have some with blue keycaps, (for about $140, but they were fullsize. I think you can get the caps separately) and you can get some very nice blue ones like that from imsto as well.

That set originally cost about $110, so hard to do it exactly like that and stay in budget. tricolour clack nonwithstanding.

If you can live with the F keys, arrows and edit keys being on a Fn layer, then go for the 60% (Poker II), since it saves more desk space, allows the mouse to be closer to the typing area and looks way cooler :)

The Keycool 87 is a TKL that came in white with white caps, but it's hard to find the one with genuine Cherry MX Blues for sale now, they switched to using Kailh "clone" switches.

The Leopold FC700R is also a TKL that comes in white with Blue switches.

The Poker II comes in white, too.

You might like these doubleshot white on blue ABS caps from Taihao, but I'm not sure if the blue is exactly the one you want:

They'll look fine on a Poker II, the only downside being that the original caps on the Poker II are better quality (thick PBT). I would suggest just buying the Poker II for now and getting keycaps after a while.

I ended up buying the Poker II with Cherry MX Blues in complete white (I think I will like them better than the mx red ones based on what I've read) and this is where I bought it:

I also saw some really cool cables people had that I thought I'd get since I still have 40$'s of budget left, but I'm willing to spend a little more if I have to on key caps. So I think I want blank key caps, but with the letter on the front of the cap if you know what I mean. Like on the Happy Hacking Professional Keyboard 2.

The light blue ones look decent, but their not named on the picture so I don't want to guess and buy the wrong set, which one are these listed as in the drop down menu? And will they have all the keys for a Poker II?

I'd go with a TKL Ducky if I were you, you can get it blue backlight, easy to find nice keycap replacements. Not sure if it's in your price range though, I think it might just be..
