Title: nikon auto-focus adjustment
Post by: jalaj on Thu, 28 August 2014, 02:58:32
Anyone else have to correct their stock auto-focus on a Nikon camera?
How can you tell if you need to manually adjust it in this manner?
Finally realized my D5100 wasn't auto-focusing, lol.
Used the menus as shown in the video to activate the digital auto-focus functionality.

Well the video goes in to a rough way to tell using just a picture of someone else. But you could always use focus charts. There are a few you can buy and a few you can print out yourself for free.

I personally use this: http://regex.info/blog/photo-tech/focus-chart

Just follow the directions, set autofocus on to a single point and have it lock on to the center target then just look at the numbers to the side to see how your autofocus is doing.
