I am a Computer Engineering Student at Clemson University. I'm a gamer and I enjoy WoW, Diablo III, EvE Online, and CS:GO. I currently use an Apple Aluminum keyboard, but it has started dying on me. I have really grown to enjoy the layout, but finding a mechanical keyboard with a similar layout has proven to be difficult. Having the F keys above the number keys is great for games like WoW where you need all the keybinds you can get, and I have grown accustom to control and alt being next to each other.
I am seriously considering the Noppoo Chocolate Mini, but I use the number pad a good bit. So maybe buy a separate number pad? Idk, but that also doesn't solve the issue of control and alt being swapped. So I am thinking about building my own. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to Geekhack!
A few keyboards have DIP switches so you can reassign Alt and Win keys. This is often for the convenience of Mac users (like me, heh). It sometimes saves having to go into keyboard preferences to swap the keys around.
