Hey,
Having owned a cheap mechanical keyboard (cherry g80) for about a year now I am looking to upgrade to something a little more high end.
I am looking for a 60% keyboard with Cherry MX Browns however I am having some trouble finding any for sale.
Can anyone recommend any sites that would be good for buying mechanical keyboards from, the keyboards need to have a UK ISO layout?

Just check them out, the only one that really floats my boat is the Filco Ninja Majestouch-2, which I am going to do more research into. I have heard that Filco is a good brand however despite the ninja key caps I am probble going to replace them.

This Image shows ANSI not ISO but you can always Call or Email them first. :thumb:

Typically keyboard that you get from the US websites have a ANSI , US layout. But it is not all that different from the UK layout. I am in Holland where people use a mix of ISO and ANSI, and I prefer the latter. Getting adjusted to it does not take much time, and since you expressed an interest to replace the keycaps, that is (much) easier to do when you have an ANSI layout. But ultimately it is up to you.

If you have an idea what you want, a good place to look is ebay or the classified section here.
A person's choice of switch or layout is very personal and they might let go of a board they do not like too much at a good discount.
Seller gets to recoup losses and you get what you save. Win win.

I believe the Cherry G80 IS high end.
It is one of the cheapest mechanical keyboards yoy can get and it shows, it lacks plate mounting which results in a slight flex when you type, it's not very space efficient either.

Getting keycaps is not a problem as WASD (which is where i was planning on getting my key caps) have ISO layout.

I guess how easy it is to adapt is different for everyone. For me, the larger shift is just easier to use. I think most people would feel that way since it is just easier to reach with your pinkie. Additionally, you do not have to change you muscle memory. If you hit shift the exact same way as you did before, you will still simply push shift. I think the same thing might go for the enter key as long as you would normally hit it somewhere near the bottom. Also , ANSI looks better imo ;D
WASD does have the ISO layout. But if you are interested in POM or PBT keycaps, or want to try other keycap sets, maybe even participating in one of the group buys, then it is easier to have ANSI. For some people that is something they keep in mind, others could care less.
I can also recommend the keyboard company. I have dealt with them a couple of times in the past. I have made use of their one day delivery option (UK to Holland) and they did indeed deliver on the next day. Also, I have returned a keyboard I was not satisfied with without any hassle. I also called them once and the person I talked to took the time and was extremely friendly and answered all my questions (about when they will have something back in stock).
