Title: Lightning tripping circuit breaker
Post by: tp4tissue on Sun, 31 August 2014, 02:03:08
the lightning didn't hit the house, it wasn't very close..

WHY did it trip the breaker?

I've put it back on during the storm.. it will still trip when a larger lightning strike hits.. (BUT none of which hit this house)

Maybe it hit some of the electrical infrastructure and traveled along it to your house.

Yea I think that's it..  I looked up the specs on the devices that are in this box...  < 32Amps on input..  so the lightning is tripping the input protection.
