Hello, all. I wanted to try cherry red switches, and I heard good things about the Poker II. However, I do not like the overall look of the stock Poker II (especially the spacebar with text on it). Would any of you like to recommend some keys to try out? I have looked at many of the sites, but I can't find anything in particular that pops out at me. Perhaps you guys have some suggestions? I mostly want to keep the PBT thickness.
I really like the styles this guy uses for his in this thread (the vortex blue set is sold out) http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=61773.0
Obviously, I will make it my own, but these keycaps are darn hard to track down. I guess the community is a very small niche which is why they need to be custom made opposed to mass produced.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Think I found another hobby :D

Maybe a Raindrop set from techkeys? http://techkeys.us/collections/keycap-sets/products/rain-drop-v2-set

Although I like the coloring.. I will probably want to keep the PBT thickness. Thanks though. I will change my original post to reflect that.

There are some thick PBT options in this thread: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=59780.0
Not sure what colours you like most, there are quite a few options out there, some cheaper than others.
Bunnylake will be running a new Group Buy soon for a GMK version of the HyperFuse set. GMK makes thick ABS doubleshot keycaps in Cherry profile. Absolutely top quality caps.
I'd take a browse through the Interest Checks and Group Buys section to see if any of those sets strikes your fancy.
If you want an interesting old skool cold war terminal keyboard look, there's the Nuclear Data Green GB in SA profile running right now: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=61198.0
Another SA profile keyset that will have a Group Buy running soon is the Pulse set, but this one will have contoured profile (different angle for each row): http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=61822.0
The SA profile caps in these sets are thick doubleshot ABS. If you like that profile, it's a good time for it. Matt3o will be running either Midnight or Retro Group Buy in SA profile after Nuclear Data Green completes. Probably with the option for all Row 3 or contoured.
I believe IvanIvanovich will be running another GB once the current 2 complete (GMK Dolch and Pitch Black - black on black PBT). There's a chance it'll be for some thick POM caps, or perhaps another PBT set.
Welcome to the hobby! Mind your wallet, though, it's addictive and can get expensive!

Are these compatible with the Poker 2? http://www.ebay.com/itm/PBT-Keycap-Set-for-Cherry-MX-based-Leopold-Keyboard-Front-Face-English-White-/271568532918?ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123

Maybe a Raindrop set from techkeys? http://techkeys.us/collections/keycap-sets/products/rain-drop-v2-set
I just got this set for my Poker and although they are thinner than the stock PBTs, they still feel like high quality caps. The quality of the legends is absolutely amazing!
I have a set of WASD ABS caps and they aren't nearly as high of quality as these Raindrops. You can pinch the WASD ones hard enough and they will bend a little, and the legends aren't very crisp on the white caps.
The main difference I notice between the Raindrops and the stock PBT caps is the sound. Its more of a high pictched sound when the keys are bottomed out compared to the dull thud of the PBT keys bottoming out.
I absolutely them though and would suggest getting them! Shipping was relatively quick too!
