Hi, I am liking the Topre feel a lot, but plenty of times it's a little too loud for the situation, and really like the small form factor. I heard that using dental bands would reduce the travel and that silenced ones are corrected for that, but the price around $360 is really scaring my wallet. Looking for any offers if people have a silenced HHKB, I prefer blank but anything works. Thanks!

I might have a blank black HHKB up for sale soon. I'll keep you posted. I pulled it apart last week and ordered dental bands, which should be here in a few days. I'll hit you up with details when I get the mod completed.

Just making sure, is it Type S and dental band modded?

Unfortunately, Type-S' only come with white cases, but dental banding will give a much similar sound and feel to that of a normal type-s, it's not a bad alternative at all! One thing to keep in mind is that some newer type-s models have had a whistling sound problem that may or may not bother you. You can search around on here, and youtube for some better descriptions of what I'm referring to.

Hmm, I see. I'm pretty set on a slightly used Type-S which is said to not have the whistling issue (I find it a little hard to tell in the videos.. argh), but thanks for the information, it's really helpful. I only think of the Type-S because I already have a normal Topre keyboard, but since the Type-S has longer stems to alleviate the reduced travel, it seems like a great option.

Ah, my bad. I thought you were looking for a dental-band-modded HHKB.

No problem at all, I hope that you find luck in selling your keyboard. I think that I have found a seller, though, so I'll just lock this thread for now. Thank you for all the responses!
