Title: Computer Stuff and REBATES !!

They are absolutely SCUM.....

But that is the nature of business... to tax the lazy and uninformed..


Basically, I sent in two rebates recently, 1x for a motherboard $10, 1x for a corsair psu $20.

BOTH were rejected..

The motherboard rebate, rejected for missing invoice,

_________1 month ago, I bought the exact same motherboard, and used the exact same invoice link on Microcenter's site,  and it was accepted....   Called 4myrebates, RESOLVED...

The Corsair rebate, site doesn't tell you anything, says your rebate's invalid, no reason provided....

________ I use online chat, tell them I have High Res photos of the material sent in,
                      2 second later, they approve the rebate for final processing...didn't even want to see my photos,  no explanation provided....


so.. WTF....  you say... what was wrong .... ??




LET me enlighten you on how rebate centers operate...


THEY KNOW that there will be a percentage of people who will NOT call or follow up on a rebate..

So what they do is,  automagically  Invalidate a portion of their rebates regardless of legitamacy...


This way,,,  they capture the maximum amount of the people who do not follow up within the response window they set in their policy...


It's a probabilities game that capitalizes on the disorganized and the lazy...





Relative to people like me, who will sue them over $10,    essentially,  Other people are sponsoring my consuming-computer-addiction... 

Final Lesson_  Always take pictures,  always CALL THEM, always GET ANGRY...

Been through this at least 50 times...for some reason, I run into the issue more with MSI products than any other company...The one I've never had a single issue with a claim on is EVGA.

I've actually never purchased an MSI part for myself. That was for other people's builds that did not want to listen to me and go with Asus or Gigabyte. But hey, to each their own.

A rebate of mine had been rejected - they said I didn't fill out something. I sent them a photo showing them that I did in fact fill out the thing.
Nope.
Still declined.
I complained to Newegg and they gave me a courtesy gift card.

In the future I'm just going to photocopy everything and send a certified mail like the olden days.

don't do this...increased cost on your end...  certified mail won't make a difference...   because their internal policy is Automagical...



I've tested this before, where I just take the picture of the stuff I send in, and Don't even mail it..

Then when I get the invalid rebate,  I email the picture to them, or I contact egg/amaz/tigrdirt..
