you can also get a cherry numpad, which are cheaper. some are fully programmable . others are partially programmable. either way, 60% with numpad is the way to go imo

I'm telling you man, the Nerd TKL. I don't know if my 60% board could be completely future proof. But I guess it's really up to you if you don't think you'll ever need actual arrow keys or F-keys.

Makes sense for people that can make it work, imo. Is one more keystroke a bit more inconvenient? Sure, probably. Do I lose a noticeable amount of productivity, personally? Nope. I actually find sometimes it's easier for me to use a 60% unless I'm doing pure data entry or something similar in which case I'd just grab a numpad like demik said.

I disagree. Your hands don't need to move anywhere, you can do everything without moving your hands really. The biggest thing to learn with 60% is being able to touch type the number row fast. I used to be a heavy numpad user, but then when I started using 60% more, I just got really into touch typing the numbers on there instead, now Im rubbish trying to enter numbers using a numpad so my numpad barely ever gets used.
