ErgoDoxen

"I am the proud owner of several ErgoDoxen."

-OR-

Simply have the singular and the plural be the same word.

"I am the proud owner of several ErgoDox."

Ergodoxen  types out fine...  it doesn't roll off the tongue though....  because the -xen- is a complicated nasal sound..

I like Ergs.. but that may be too much like eggs..

Ergodoxi is great...

Ergodoces, hmm.. maybe  Ergodos  or  Ergodolce..

Oooo.. Ergodolce..    I like that one..

I think this a one of those cases where the singular and plural forms are the same....like deer or aircraft.

I thought that too, but "I have several Ergodox." doesn't sound quite right.

Looking at this again. I feel like the word "keyboards" needs to follow Ergodox when referring to it as a plural.

"I have several Ergodox keyboards."

To me, it's just Ergodox. No plural form.

doxen..  mmm..  i guess because of the box thing.. that makes sense..   but why hold ourselves to some weird allegory..

Ergodox has already become a legendary keyboard...   it should have its own funky naming scheme..

We could give it a name similar to groups of animals. Like a murder of crows or a prickle of porcupines.

Since the litster style cases are more common than 3D-printed or CNC'd, how about a stacking of Ergodox?

I hope its not just me thinking there would be Sir David Attenborough saying something like "And here we see the rare ErgoDoxen, grazing in the field" xD

/attenborough voice

The male approaches the female, slowly, offering a gift to initiate courtship.. the female accepts, they're now locked in a loving-synergistic relationship. Together they bring new creation and code into this desolate environment.

Weeks later their offspring emerges, a ray of light from within darkness, a marvel of human nature and engineering.

I just realized that Attenborough's entire career is based off of catching animals having sex... and how ^^ that script is on Every bluray..

Hmmm..... Since the name is derived from the username of the creator should it not be: ErgoDoxes? One Dox, many Doxes, Doxii, Doxen, Dooooooöööö..... harumph! In Finnish it's easy, ErgoDoxit or ErgoDoxia depending on context.

Maybe move to Off-Topic? Or perhaps Keyboards since it's about the name of a specific keyboard?

When I use the ErgoDox, it does feel like I'm transported to a magical place. Now that place has a name.
