I've been browsing the forums for a bit. Really cool community. I've been planning out my next keyboard which has brought me to the forum.
I'm thinking of joining the ergodox groupbuy, although I'd rather pay someone to have it preassembled and not have to wait 3 months.
I was looking at the typematrix as my next board. My problem though is that it's not mechanical and doesn't have a fully programable controller. I'm looking to abstract as much from the OS as possible. Right now I'm doing some funky things to use capslock as escape when pressed alone and control when used in combination with other keys, enter works as option when used this way, same as tab works as command\win. This leaves only space in the bottom row. I use karabiner and seil for this.
I'm interested to find out what similar to the ergodox is out there. I'm interested in something split hand and not staggered. See you around the forum!

There's not too many that are similar to Ergo Dox. The Matias Ergo Pro is one that springs to mind.
