Like the title in this thread. Is there IBM Model M keyboards in Dvorak ? sorry if this has been answered before but i really don't have any info or knowledge in this subject. How much is it for a normal IBM model m for say mid 80's to early 90's ? What would i need to get one to work with todays pc's and were would i find one that would be guaranteed to work ? say something was broken with it and i could tell them and i could just send back get my cash back or they can just replace it ?

But if you only move the keycaps when you press the keycap down doesn't it still think its in its default mode ? Just because i move a keycap to another spot on the keyboard doesn't mean the keyboards knows were you move the keycaps to. It needs software or some hardware actuated by the user for it know i think. Thats whats makes sense to me any way.

Unicomp takes custom orders (http://pckeyboard.com/page/category/KBDCFG) and they list Dvorak among available layouts, but I have no idea, if it's just keycaps, or a truly DSK keyboard (like they have Mac/Unix models).
Otherwise, Teensy is your best bet.

No need for teensy with M's or F's unless you need it in the hardware because you switch computers often. M and F caps are all the same profile and work in any row, so you can change the keys around with no issue. Also Dvorak is supported by all major OS's. Just need to find the options. Just google it for your OS. I did it on my Das and kept the keys in the qwerty placement just to try it for a few minutes. I even had hot keys setup to switch. I think I used Ctrl+Shift+1 for qwerty and Ctrl+Shift+2 for dvorak. Though I don't remember how I setup the hot keys or if I even did this with win 7 or 8.

It's always better to have such layout in hardware for entering passwords (bootloader, encrypted system partition), dealing with remote/virtualized systems or just in case rights for changing the software layout aren't available.
The F&J nibs are annoying, when in incorrect positions.

terminal boards like the 122key model F do not have those nibs. I never found them to be annoying in the wrong positions though. (before I had a model F)

Bro, please. I use the model F. That M is for when I feel bad that it's sitting in the corner all alone. Or for work.
Anyway, I use the dvorak language layout in linux and either hardware dvorak (for typing) or qwerty (for gaming) in windows.
