What custom would you pay the absolute most for? For me it would be a duck Orion with full LEDs and lubed and stickers 65g reds for about 500. What is your most valued Korean Custom?
-
356CL obviously
-
I have always thought LZ-GH is a beauty so I guess IŽll go with that one
-
356CL obviously
dis ^^

356CL obviously
Is there anything that makes the 356CL better than the 360C? They look about the same to me :-X
-
356L... the OG
-
Duck Lightsaver, 356CL Dark Gray Edition (rare) and Duck's 75%er if it gets to production.
-
Are Kingsavers Korean?

if I'm not mistaken it was made by Duck, so yes it is korean.

Different case design. Same PCB, same plate design though.

I don't get why the korean boards cost so much. They are just mech boards to me. Why so valued ?

If you have to ask it isn't worth it.

i'm asking for real. i would like to know why ? if they have a metal case then i understand, but i think i have seen some of them korean boards for over like $300 thats too much for a board.

Low production plus CNC time. CNC time is expensive even overseas.

Not only that, but design time isn't cheap and it doesn't come quickly even for something as simple as a keyboard case.

And because each run only a small number of units are produced, for the otd boards anyway, 60-100.

Hopefully I can get a 360c one day, I think that is probably my favorite board so far. (So valued the most to me I guess)

This. It is all supply and demand; everyone thinks they are awesome (although some wouldn't pay for it) but there is such a small supply that when they are sold, they can be sold for astronomical prices.

Ah, I see. I suppose I can see the appeal just because it's so rare.

I didn't know about the CL356.2, anyone on GH have one of these? Any major differences from the CL356?

Gonna be contrarian and say "Leeku 3000". Primarily because my interest in a custom has all been about "Let's use the switches I want in the slightly weird layout I want with the programmable controller I want" and less about the fancy case. Being able to use an off-the-shelf G80-3000 case brings the price down to manageable levels, so it's the only one I could see buying at anything resembling full price.

Leeku 3k, 356CL DGE, GON NerD.2.
There are so many KMACs that you'll probably be able to buy one for sub $300, when the kits go for over $400.

Where is this sub 300 KMAC? I would swoop in for the kill on that.

He has a cheat and a typenow solid, which I am actually kind of interested in because I have never heard of it before.
-
cheat is good, typenow is just a leopold with an alu case
-
Ah thank you. And i was just looking at it. Browns in a custom? Icky
Edit: and the cheat has browns for modifiers? I'll pass.
-
356CL DGE and 356mini were always my favorites. Never managed to get my hands on a DGE, though. :(

Different strokes for different folks. You can always swap switches out, anyways.

True. But I don't know how to solder :p that's even more money on top of an already expensive board. Not very Geekhackish, I know, but as a 10th grade student with only a summer job, that is a huge dealbreaker.
-
Does your school have soldering equipment? My school lets me use theirs for anything I may need it for.
-
They have a lot of woodworking equipment but I'm not sure if they have soldering stuff.
-
ask them if they have any
soldering a keyboard is surprisingly forgiving
check out the immense soldering thread (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=42824.0) for tips/info/other stuff
-
Thanks for the advice. I will ask monday, and I believe my friend has one. I will also check the soldering tips section that you linked.
-
none of them.
I rock the "american" custom, the skeldon, proudly made in the USA.
-

I want a LZ-MX Mini.

I love the Duck Viper and Duck Eagle :D
But does it count if I don't have them...
or don't have them yet :(
-
GON NerD 60% with 62g clears :)
