Title: Hello Geekhack :)
Post by: Voli on Sun, 28 September 2014, 06:15:51
Hello Geekhack,
I have had this geekhack account for a while now but have never posted. This being my first post i thought i would share a little bit about my keyboard (currently only have the one but an looking to get my second very soon). I am currently using a Quickfire Pro with Cherry MX Black switches that I won in a competition. I'm looking to purchase a poker II but i am unsure on what switch type to get. recommendations would be greatly appreciated :)

Welcome to GH! :thumb:

Switch type boils down to personal preference.  You could get a switch tester but you are off trying out keyboards in person (in a store or if there are any members in your local that can let you try out their boards). ;)

Welcome to Geekhack!

A while ... more than a year

I also like MX blacks.  And greens.  And a bunch of other switches.  Not MX reds so much though, he said, typing on them now, and pressing the wrong keys all the time because they are too easy to press.

If you like MX blacks, no reason not to stick with them.  Or if you like how stiff they are, but want a bit of tactile and audible feedback, try MX greens.

Or go for something radically different, like a Model M, or a Topre board :p

A great competition, if the prize was a reasonable good mechanical keyboard :))
