Title: Corsair K70/95 RGB from Brown to Clear?
Post by: Capitalistix on Mon, 29 September 2014, 16:44:14
How tough of a mod would this be, if even possible? I know the bases on these boards are special RGB lit ones, but I dont care too much for browns, loves clears, and have a clear donor board. I was really thinking of getting one of these K70/95s for a new computer build but would love to farm out the clear mod to an experienced swtch modder on here, if its even posssible...

So yeah! Basically just want to know if its doable!

Thanks guys

I wonder if the LEDs need to be unsoldered to remove the switch...
I would just be open the switch housing and replace the stem as far as I know.

From what I have seen, its an SMD LED underneath the switch, and not a through-hole (from the pictures I've seen of the RGB switch, I don't think it even has support for a through-hole). It should just be a matter of desoldering the switch, opening it up to replace the spring+steam(if you want stock clears anyway), closing it back up and then soldering it back into place.
