Title: Corsair K70/95 RGB from Brown to Clear?
Post by: Capitalistix on Mon, 29 September 2014, 16:51:10
How tough of a mod would this be, if even possible? I know the bases on these boards are special RGB lit ones, but I dont care too much for browns, loves clears, and have a clear donor board. I was really thinking of getting one of these K70/95s for a new computer build but would love to farm out the clear mod to an experienced swtch modder on here, if its even posssible...

So yeah! Basically just want to know if its doable!

Thanks guys

you could just do it with a stem swap, it's not that hard.

Shouldnt be that hard, just somewhat labor intensive. Desolder all the browns switches along with the LED legs, open up the switches to remove the brown springs/stems and replace with clear springs/stems, then just resolder them back in place.

As far as I know the LED are SMD LED mounted under the keyswitch (that's why the switch housing is clear plastic).

What this means is that you only have to desolder the switch and doesn't need to worry about LED.

Still a pain in the butt but not as bad.

Hope this helps.  :thumb:
