Title: Ergodox not being recognized, need troubleshooting help
Post by: Gclax24 on Tue, 30 September 2014, 16:27:56
When the left side is connected to the right side, my PC does not even connect.  Rebooting my pc with it connected to the USB causes my PC to shut down and not proceed with normal startup.

If I disconnect the left side while keeping the right side plugged in, it shows up on my pc and works as it should.

I'm assuming it's shorting somewhere but I have no idea where to look.

Thanks in advance.

If you post some PCB photos of the solder side of the left hand we can look over them.

Maybe it is not your computer which does not recognize the ergodox, but the ergodox which recognizes your computer as unworthy..  :p

Sorry for the delay, things got busy with work and it slipped my mind. Here are a few pictures http://imgur.com/a/pR6jC (http://imgur.com/a/pR6jC)

After fiddling with it, I've found that it's a problem with the right side connection, I just don't know what it is yet. When I connect the 3.5mm male into the right side (without the other end connected to the left) it shuts off my usb splitter. So here are the right side pictures http://imgur.com/a/8YD3p (http://imgur.com/a/8YD3p)

Necro-bumping this thread cause I'm having the same issue.

It definitely has to do with the TRRS port. When the right side is plugged in by itself every key functions properly, as soon as I plug a cable into the TRRS port the entire thing disconnects and the computer stops recognizing it.

I've already tried replacing the TRRS port with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.
