Will this PCB support Gon's wireless module?
Will this PCB support Gon's wireless module?
I'll ask GON and get back to you about that alright. :)
for illumination of the keyboard case.Cool that makes sense.
This is applicable only when you have a translucent acrylic case. The LEDs are on the underside of the board, and point outwards.
GONs cases make use of this illumination capability. This isnt limited to GONs cases, such as the recent massdrop acrylic case, or other earlier acrylic cases.

I plan to go with a Hammer case! Do you know if those will fit?
Also is the Nerd60 fully backlit capable?
I would like to solder LEDs for every switch.
I would prefer a white on the grounds of backlight flexibility. It would help reflect the light from the backlight LEDs, and allow you use any colour without affecting the colour.
Also looks good on a fully clear/translucent case.
My next (haha) dream 60% would be the GON crystal case with wireless. Hopefully that will be coming to the 60% some time in the future.
Is this board going to support your Bluetooth module? Not yet on NerD60, maybe in the future.
See this is why I really want a white PCB since I have the acrylic case coming in ;D originally I settled with black, but white would be even better. And besides I'm planning 2 60%s anyways so it doesn't really matter that I have a spare PCB lying around for a while ^^Is this board going to support your Bluetooth module? Not yet on NerD60, maybe in the future.
Regarding the color, I will buy whatever will be in the end, I'm crazy about 60% boards, and after I got my Black NerD60.... well I must get a second
If it's white I will have an acrylic sprit case that just screams side LED's :P

That be true. White might be a standard. I guess with that in mind, then Red might be the way to go. Unless people want to get yellow. I actually want a yellow one but didn't suggest it because I don't think it will reach numbers. ;) hahahahaI would love a yellow one :thumb:

GON sugested that he will have white NerD60 as standard, I think he posted that on the Black NerD60 thread. Have to read again that thread :P

Awesome! White is as a standard is much better than the regular green PCBs. What would also be cool for future runs is maybe matte colored PCBs.

Changing Colors from Green needs extra cost. So, stock white NerD 60 will be $55($53+$2). ;)
Sorry for the lack of updates. Will update and tally the google doc later today. :DSounds good man ;D thanks for setting this up! ;)
Hi, just wondering how many layouts can this PCB support?
Since I would like to order two for two custom boards, can this support the following layouts?
Layout 1 and Layout 4 of the following with stepped-caps lock:Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/LcBNzgy.jpg)
I love how the GB title has been updated :)

Sounds wrong, imma go edit it now. :)
Is the firmware able to support space as fn key in a manner similar to tmk?Keyboard is fully programmable but for that function you would still have to install the tmk software.
I still prefer the White Nerd PCB lol :p
I'm interested in getting one, but don't know if I have the funds :( so I'm not going to fill the doc, don't want people to count on me. But if I have the money ... :Pi'll shout you 5 bucks so stick your interest in mate. promise 5 bucks. AUD btw, not shifty euros  that exchange rate...
Oh yes, and when the GB is up e feel guilty for sticking my interest and having no money to live up to my word, and start selling stuff so I have the money like the last time with the Black NerD60 when I sold my first ever mech board :P I guess you leave me no choice, you sneaky tasmanian devil, my vote is in.I'm interested in getting one, but don't know if I have the funds :( so I'm not going to fill the doc, don't want people to count on me. Sweeeeeeeeet! I don't have AUD in my coin collection, so I might be interested in one small coin from "Down Under" , but that's another story ;)

Old but gold...
Totally on-topic ;)
I owe you 5 buckaroos :))Sweeeeeeeeet! Pleasure doing business with you ;) hahahaYou owe me one ;)
What controller is on this board?Gons own custom NerD controller.
What would be the price?
Does the SMD parts come pre-soldered?
Does it come with diodes/LEDs/resistors?
I might be down for one if it's white, always wanted a white PCB 60%.
Has the PCB price been finalized?55 USD but if we go over MOQ by a long shot (say 70+) GON might do free soldering (kind of like R1 where we didn't hit a high enough interest to get free soldering)
Gons own custom NerD controller.
Also with NerD GUI you have multiple layers and macros and fancy stuff. I guess you could use some other firmware, the controller is an ATMega 32U4 if I'm not mistaken, so you could flash an avrdude compatible bootloader if you have an ISP programmer and you can use tmk after that.Gons own custom NerD controller.
Is that programmable by any other means than his proprietary software?
As nice as the GUI is, it doesn't beat custom firmware like tmk's where you'd have much more freedom to do fancy stuff with multiple layers, macros and functions.

But then again why do that, NerD GUI is more than enough and if you have a special wish I'm sure GON can include it in a future release of the firmware.
There is also a command line, have yet to test it.
As far as I know, the GUI has a max of 3 layers (base layer + two more), and with the setup I'd like to run I need at least 6, preferably more, which is why I'd like to use something like tmk's.Now I understand why you want TMK, when I started in this mech boards hobby I wanted that too, now I don't even use macro's. I have one layout that I want on all my 60%, the exact same one, program the board once and that's it. I like simple things and I like when I change from one board to the other to expect the same behavior ;D
It also allows me to use functions, and in that sense it allows me to do actual programming for the keyboard (like a compose key feature directly on the keyboard without the need for software, or layout hotswapping between qwerty and dvorak, or even a virtual dip-switch), basically an unlimited amount of customizability.
If the controller is indeed an ATMega32u4 and I can flash a different bootloader that would be great, and I'd most likely purchase at least one PCB.
But I understand why you want to do all that stuff, I can double check at home on my NerD60 PCB what is the exact part number on the controller.
The best way would be to wait for the GH60 it works out of the box with TMK, it was designed for TMK.
Or biuld a keyboard from scratch, plate mounted switches, handwired matrix and a Teensy or Teensy Clone here is such a board http://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/brownfox-step-by-step-t6050.html
How's the tally so far?
What is the expected conversion rate from interest to actual purchase? With moq of 25. 27 seems a little thin.
Also for the Black NerD60 PCB the interest was around 27, when the GB went live the PCB's sold like hot bread, I think in around 2 weeks all the PCB were sold out and more people wanted in
