Well, you'd better do an IC for another color than white, because I will make 60% PCB next time in WHITE. ;)

So dumb question. How hard would it be to get the blue tooth adapter to work with other keyboards?

The module in NerD is not an Adapter but a "module" that needs specifically modified firmware in MCU to work with it.
This module is not compatible with other kbds if not modified and I don't have plan to modify for other kbds. ;)

Worth a shot :P

Any mock-up of what a 40% iso layout might look ?

Any mock-up of what a 40% iso layout might look ?
Unfortunately, Mobik does not support multi-layout configuration.
The only variation is for Caps Lock(Centered or Off-Centered). ;)

How long does the battery last on wireless? Is there going to be a 60 percent version?

Loadmap now is, TKL(released), MobiK(released), 60(planned), and etc...

$285 for a wireless 40% keyboard is too expensive for me. Would it be possible to have a kit without switches, stickers and stabs and therefore cheaper?

I will add separate items too.
NerD MobiK PCB(White, including Controller soldering/flashing) - $50
Optional Bluetooth Module + Li-Pol Battery + recharging Circuit - $55
CNC Machined NS NerD Crystal MobiK housing - $140
If I can run GB, $285 Kit including Bluetooth Option will be $235 for a limited period.
-
How much interest/how many people would you need to run the GB? Rough number?
-
Very nice. Must focus on a 60. Quit distracting me.
-
omg Gon... my wallet.
How many people for GB?
(damn it i need to save for 60% though...)
-

I need 10+ members this time. If I run the same GB(R2) again, the MOQ might be higher..

40% ISO

Hmmm...seems like more people are waiting for the 60%. Actually if I had to choose only one I'd probably go for the 60 too...
-
oh man, oh man
This is going to be hard to resist if this happens
I don't have any money but id sell some stuff to get one of these with the bluetooth
edit: wait hold up, is this live? can I actually order one?

As you know, I post pics only when I'm ready or almost ready. haha.
This one is READY. I'm just asking members for GB. Currently this DIY Kit is $285 including bluetooth option, but if there are 10+ demands I will give them a discount of $50 for each set. ;) I need qty for manufacturing PCBs and the housings. ;)
-
cheaper would be good, actually cheaper is necessary, count me in if you are gathering numbers :)
-
Yeah, the only way I'd seriously be able to consider this is if the price is just a bit lower. :'(
-
I'm pretty sure that once purchased this lovely little board can be passed around many times if not my cup of tea. Programmable, bluetooth, portable, nice layout, ergo clears & rubber rings and it can be office quiet. Really curious if it can be productive at the office.
I am unreasonably fascinated.
-
Pocket sized GON keyboard it can't get any better
Don't have the money now, but I've learned never to say never :P

Learned from Justin Bieber? Sorry for trolling, but I just can't help it when I see "never say never". :))

Justin Who, is that some kind of an aquatic rodent??? Oh no that's a beaver.... I'm an old fart I learned that from cooler guys ->> http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0086006/ :P
-
might make a good Christmas present for myself
I dig this
-
This has the potential to be an end game board if I can make a 40% practical at the office.
-
I added NerDy GUI 1.4 release info and its photo in the post. ;)
-
The only concern I have on this board is if a %40 can be effectively setup up to be a daily driver at the office and at home.
There seems to be enough fn, ctl, alt keys on this one to avoid 3 fingering common short cuts and enough function layers not to have to squeeze into the fn-shift-<key> paradigm. There is a spot to place 1 fn key on the left hand side.
It might be nice to see a home row 12 keys across that allowed for a more standard fingering and fn1 and fn2 on both sides. This way qwerty, colemak, dvorak could fit comfortably on the keyboard and those of us who are touch typists could put our hands on the keyboard and start typing. Leaving . , ; on the main layer and a second fn key on the left could make for a zero learning curve on the main layer.
Just my thoughts as I try to figure out if a 40% is going to be a novelty or my main keyboard.
-
While I love the idea of 40% boards, I'm still much more comfortable with a 60%. I love this IC but if GON says there's a wireless 60% coming...well...
Of course, if I was rich then this would be a no brainer. This thing would be awesome paired with my Nexus.
-
Talked to GoN about this previously :P
I seem to enjoy 40% boards a lot s othis will be my daily carry keyboard while the TKL GoN will remain my daily home keyboard
Good luck with the sales GoN!
-
I am not going to buy this one.... but I reallly really want to.
-
I'll grab one. Need a Bluetooth board for taking notes, 40% seems perfect.

Yeah I'm pairing mine with my phone for notes and things!
Now to find the cash...

I will run a GB for this DIY KIT. ;)
I will post at GB section. ;)
