Title: RIP old keyboard, need a new one.
Post by: KushZEN on Sat, 04 October 2014, 03:27:01
So old faithful corsair k70 took a big dump on me, I can't really play games with my poker since I heavily rely on function keys and my modifier layers are already full. I'm looking for a keyboard with a layout similar to the PlumMX96, Quickfire TK or the Lightsaver, Basically something with a numpad in a TKL size. Anything like them currently on the market and accessible right now?

I would love to buy a lightsaver, but I just can't find one, and waiting for a group buy isn't really an option since I need a replacement... like now. If anyone has one and wants to sell PM please (fat chance, but worth a shot I guess.

Anywho, any other keyboards like them? I would rather avoid the CM QF-TK, since they have awkward sized keycaps and I wouldn't be able to use any of my keycaps.

Couldn't find anything that fit your exact needs in one board. Have you considered getting a 60% board with dedicated function keys and a separate number pad?

The Vortex Race II (https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=762) comes with dedicated function keys and arrow keys in a small form-factor.

Leopold makes an affordable number pad (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Leopold-FC210TP-Mechanical-Num-Key-Pad-Tenkeypad-Cherry-MX-Brown-Switches-PBT-/271604967606?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item3f3ceae8b6).

Yeah, I considered, but couldn't sell myself on the strange form factor. I decided to just buy a QF-XT and stick with a fullsize board for now. Maybe when I'm not in such a hurry, I can scout out for a lightsaver in a group buy or something.
