I've been flirting with this gal at an art store for a little bit and I finally decided to ask her out; however, once I started looking for stuff to do, I realized Orange County is boring as ****. What the hell do you do when you realize that your area's idea of culture and events are boring plays and old people festivals?

Start paint yourself? :)

OC isn't super exciting but I never ran out of stuff to do. I'd say it also depends on how much you like the water and being outdoors. Food, too. I'm generally out and about munching, lounging, or being super active. Or you drive to LA and piss away your money there, lol.
-
Show her your keyboard collection. That's always fun.
In all seriousness, though, just take her for a walk at the park or something. Boring or not, you should be the one making it a good time since you asked her out.

OC is great if you like food, mediocre for beer, and boring for doing things that aren't water related. I got used to there being a ton of events in Seattle and Texas. There was always a fun date. Back in Orange County, I discovered that most of the events are boring or rich people things.
-
Come by me, I'll show you a good time. ;)

You don't realize how lucky are being in OC. I spent many years in OC during the 80s and 90s... Irvine, Tustin Ranch, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, San Clemente... and now I live in the middle of jack nowhere. You have restaurants and commercial centers aplenty... performing arts, beaches, Pageant of the Masters... Car meets, nature walks, cigar shops, bars... Balboa Island, Dana Point... the list goes on. Look around, there is plenty to do down there.

Ah. Well when's your date? I know that the state fair is coming up this time of year where I'm from. That's always fun.
Tripadvisor.com is your friend. (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g659482-Activities-Orange_County_California.html)

Move to San Francisco? ;)
-
Yeah, it's definitely more suited for the rich or people with particular interests. Still, I love the OC. Sad I have to move to the IE soon.

I know you will babe. Remember what happened last time though? We were drunk, we got a little irresponsible...and, well, you know the rest of that story.

I was in Waco, Texas for a spell, but I felt like Waco had even more to do that Orange County. OC feels like it's mainly rich people things, things for kids, or something else boring. Yeah, there are some interesting things to do, but most things tend to be pretentious, require a **** ton of money (be they for art or Disneyland), or are for kids. There's not a lot to do in my area for single guys like me.

I would, but it's bloody expensive. If I could get a job with the public guardian up there, I'd probably go for it. Plus, one of my favorite breweries, Drake, is up near there.

That it definitely is. I never really loved it and I grew up here. It's too conservative, a bit racist, too white, and more than a little classist.
No clue what the IE is.

IE = Inland Empire.
-
Ahh, becoming one with your inner redneck, fusing with the 909. Let me know when you get a lifted truck and an overly tanned girlfriend who wears Uggs and miniskirts Sent.

IE = Inland Empire.
And Inland Empire = ?

Hit up down town Fullerton or Costa Mesa has a pretty active night scene now near triangle square. South County will suck away your soul though.

Heh. Doubt that'll ever happen. Was always into the tan surfer girls around Santa Monica and Venice. Cute Asians are fine, too. :p

Desert. IE stretches all the way to the border. Stupid career.

DTF is fun and Costa Mesa has some nice eats. I must be boring or getting older. I just want to relax, have some good food, and chill when I have free time these days. I don't need a crazy night scene or anything like that.

I... I don't understand :(

It's not the place that's boring.
It's the fact that YOU've become OLD....
Beer Pong was the most exciting thing for me @ 1 point in time.. Yea.. I practiced..
But you think back.. .that's the dumbest **** ever.... y did I do that...
Freakin' playing Super Metroid on my SNES when it came out.. HOLY CRAP the GRAPHIxxxxx
Now.... TODAY.... Mehhhhhh....
The cause of all that is AGE.... face it... life is as good as it's ever going to get.. especially for Americans..
Decide today,, do you want babies,, if yes,, go make some, and spend the rest of your life feeding them...
if No.... take your steady wage, stash for retirement, @ retirement, Drug Sex n' Alcohol

Get drunk and high and go bother the mexicans in santa ana.
Rip in peace

Tan girls in minis and uggs=Hotness unparalleled.
OC=It worked well for me, but I was an overly paid consultant, all image and a playa.
IE=The ****hole known as the Inland Empire is a setting for a bad sic-fi movie of death and destruction.
Maybe take her to Laguna, the artisan capital of the area. I mean really, how could you NOT have a great time there? I used to take girls "out of the city". 1-It made a huge impression. 2-It makes them focus on you. 3-It's a great area. 4-It becomes a 4-5 hour date minimum.

Are you at least getting a complimentary lifted truck, stars and straps shirt, ****ie shorts, black socks and vans???
Accept nothing less!

Whatever happened to dinner and a movie? Do you need thrilling activities to occupy yourself while you get to know someone?

yes. dinner and a movie seems to be incredibly boring.
nubs, go play some paintball with her. **** is fun, it's cheap and you'll see if she's prissy or not.

Never been to the OC (you like that?) but I knew a girl, Lisa, who was from there. She was the biggest **** I have ever met, a complete and utter *****. She beat her kid and dogs all the time in front of people like it was just something people did and no one ever tried to stop her from hitting them, got drunk and stoned every night with a group of the dozen guys trying to bang her, never paid for **** (one time she showed up at a diner, sat and ordered, then left before it arrived leaving us to pay,) and was just generally unpleasant company. I don't use the word **** lightly (well, actually I do, but not here. It's just a fun word to say) but she was one of the worst human beings I've ever known. The rest of her family was cool though.

yup, that's OC residents. well, at least the rich snobby "im better than you because OC bro" ones.
-
hmm, I wonder if the OC is boring because it's filled with old, rich white people? Maybe move to a place that's hep. Like brooklyn, ny. Or rent a room from demik. He lives a life of danger, I have no doubt.
