Title: KBC Semi-clear ABS 104-keyset

Last week I bought a set of keycaps from geekkeys.com (http://www.geekkeys.com/kbc-semi-clear-abs-104-keyset/) and have had a little bit of time to try them out.

KBT Pure 60% pre-cap-replacement
A bunch of green nvidia promo keycaps that I've picked up at Quakecon the last two years. They're cheap and flimsy and thin, but i like 'em anyways.

New bag of KBC semi-clear ABS keycaps
A nice dark, smoky color, which is a blessing on LED-lit boards. Trust me, you'll see.

That little shift on the right is the only one I couldn't replace. Bah.

The lettering are stickers. This gives every key a tangible lump on it and it's not very pleasant, if I'm honest. But I can live with it for now.

Lights on at their dimmest
The camera is more sensitive than human eyes to LEDs so it's pleasantly lit at this level

One click brighter and it's getting overwhelming
I'm really glad I got semi-clear. The dark color sorta helps it from being painful.

max lighting is like staring into the sun. Don't look directly.

So, to conclude, they look great, but when I'm using the KB I can't really turn the brightness up past minimum lest the glow incinerate me with its furious luminescence. :P They don't feel great with the lumpy stickers, but I'm not a deeply particular person and I like the way it looks too much to take them off so soon. It reminds me of the old PowerMac G3 keyboards (http://kbsinc.com/media/catalog/product/cache/5/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/a/p/apple-usb-keyboard-m2452-uk.jpg) which were pretty awesome in my opinion. They were incredibly affordable at $24.50 + tax & shipping and I don't regret the purchase! 7/10

(I wonder what it would be like if I sanded off the letters and put it through a light color dye, like pink... Hmmm.)
