While dropping a package off for demik at the post, I saw some raving idiots out front promoting LaRouche. If you ever see a LaRouchie, don't engage them, you IQ will drop by 30 and you will fill with rage from their idiotic, unscientific, racist, and so on propoganda and zealotry.
That's not what prompted this thread though, instead it's their hillarious ignorance of history. Aside from their normal Hitler Obama propiganda, this time they had two posters right next to each other that had me cracking up. On one side they had a poster saying we need another JFK, on the other they accused Obama of leading the world to thermonuclear war. The irony had me laughing.

nice this will give me something to laugh at

One of my brother's is an LL supporter. He's been doing it ever since I could remember, flying all over the country on a non-existent budget to hand out flyers. The family has just stopped asking him why because it's not a conversation worth starting, he just won't change his views. Otherwise he seems so normal.

They look normal, then open their mouths. Then the crazy comes flowing out.

Ok.. umm.. ****.. guys..
I just watched a larouche video, on the topic of econ.. His proposal is essentially the exact opposite of what we currently have..
His approach is top down.. and assumes that Major-Powers puts the people's interest first.. which is not, has not ever been, and will never be the case..
I agree that everything he wants to do would be good.. but given the selfish nature of every person alive.. it's just not possible..
Here's hoping someone invents a space based ion weapon for larouche, cuz there'd be no other way to tame humanity as he suggests..

TP, they look good on paper, but sit down with one or dig into it and you'll see they're bat**** insane. For example, LaRouche wants the US to return to the gold standard, he likes to blame the Jews for things, he states that September 11 was an inside job and an attempt at a coup, he denies global warming, denies that DDT caused any problems, believes the ozone hole is a myth, was for quarantining those with HIV/AIDS and requiring mandatory testing (he believed only drug users and homosexuals could get AIDS), and the crazy train goes on.
-
Mandatory AIDS testing doesn't sound like such a bad idea. It's an easily erradicated desiese if people with HIV would keep it in their pants. At least, we could probably get rid of AIDS in America in 3-4 years with mandatory testing 2x a year.

I'm against it mainly because I feel it abridges individual liberty. If you want to prevent and stop the spread of AIDS, teach safe sex practice, teach people to get themselves tested regularly if they're sexually active, and teach people to not have sex with someone unless their partner has been tested. It should be viewed along the same lines as immunizations where you have the choice to not get them, but you'll be denied some fun stuff unless you get them.
The main issue with his plan was the quarantining of people with HIV/AIDS. He basically wanted to create Holocaust style ghettos for people with AIDS.

Mandatory testing? HOW would you do this.. Who pays for enforcement... Constitutional rights ?
Wishful thinking at best...
It's the same as saying.. well if EVERYONE just throw their guns away, world peace...
YEA RIGHT.... the last guy with a gun pwnz0rs everyone else and becomes ruler of Earth..
But yea... if someone builds a space based weapon system, and hands larouche the keys... it could happen.

He did not say holocaust-style-Ghetto..

He didn't say that, but he did want to segregate them. I don't care if you ship them off to an island to be alone, anytime you segregate a group of people like that, it harkens back to Jewish internment. Or Gypsy internment. Or, more accurately, the internment of the infirm, gays, mentally ill, and mentally delayed that you saw as well at the time.

Of course you wouldn't be able to test EVERYONE in the US, but it could easily be made a law and become a mandatory part of signing up for Obama Care (which is sort of mandatory now) or any privatized health care. Just a simple blood test with their first visit.
Even just that large cross section of the country being tested would immediately and drastically reduce the number of AIDS cases out there we aren't aware of.

I met a couple of LaRouche supporters when I protested outside the IPCC (UN's intergovernmental panel on climate change) meeting in Stockholm a year ago.
The LaRouche people, who BTW looked more like hippies than anyone else there, claimed that the IPCC - a collection of scientists - had a "Genocidal agenda" ...
(Now, where's the facepalm emoticon when I need it?)

on january nights, i wish global warming was a thing.

For politicians to take climate change seriously. I was there representing a local organisation together with Greenpeace, Avaaz and several others. You'll find a close-up of me screaming if you google for "IPCC protest Stockholm". A photographer jammed a camera in my face and the picture was sold everywhere.

Yes, that's me. I'm not very handsome.
I just remembered something else from meeting the LaRouchies... Apparently there was some Dutch or Belgian prince back in the 1920's who started an environmentalist group, and later supported the Nazis during the 1930's. And because of that ... the LaRouchies consider all environmentalists to be Nazis.
