Title: another 107-key 4704 turned up?

Or is someone flipping one they just got within the last few weeks?

Was this one of the ones from ComradeSniper http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=55819
or Cindy/elecplus http://deskthority.net/vendors-f52/ssk-keyboards-and-50-key-and-62-key-t8732.html
(note that Cindy still has 1 or 2 of these, which she’s selling for $100 + shipping)?

If this is from another source, I wonder who/where that is.

Just checked through all the addresses of people I sold one to, nobody was in Garden City NY.

He is the same guy who sold an industrial ssk a couple of times.

I have one of the 107 keys from Cindy. Based on the font and the text from the paper inserts, this one definitely looks like it's from the same bank that Cindy's boards are from. I don't know if she originally sold it, but that would be my guess.

The ones from ComradeSniper have the same text on the paper inserts. Maybe a bunch of bank branches around the country dumped their old terminals at once or something.

Curious to see what this one gets up to, considering how much the last one on ebay went for.

I'm also curious.  If it went for a crazy amount I would be half tempted to sell so I can pay off some debt but I doubt I could bring myself to do so.

you would need to remake the PCB, like the XTant. It would require a good knowledge of capacitive keyboard circuits.

Checking my email this morning, I discovered that I had cast the winning bid on this F107.

Yes, I wish I could cut off far right-hand cluster to make it an F77, or better yet, cut off one more cluster to make it a Kishsaver. However, I will be doing well just to do a conventional refurbishing job and to install an Xwhatsit controller. Looking forward to the challenge of getting this "old ironsides" up and running.

Why did you have to post that I really want it but no way I could justify the cost.

This is also the same guy who found 2 or 3 industrial SSKs with blue keys, Model 1395682. Before this year, Model 1395682 was basically still a legend. I think 3-4 came onto the market this year, each selling for over $1100 with the last one this guy sold at $999. I really want one, but I'm only willing to pay $800 tops. In the listings he says he has a recycler contact he got them from. Must be an amazing source.... I can only hope his high dollar listings entice other recyclers to start looking for the rare IBM boards to get more onto the market and lower the price some. I think the same thing happened with the M13, seems like the prices on those have decreased some in the past 3 years. There were over 5000 Model 1395682s made, so I am confident more will surface.

The one I got from ComradeSniper had no foot on it. Personally I don’t want the foot on there anyway, so whatever. :-)

I would prefer the foot so I can be as close to original as I can be (hardware wise).  But my plan is to just buy 2 big rubber feet and attach them where the original attachment holes for the foot were.  I don't think I could stand typing on it long term if it lies flat.

Your desk is too high and/or your chair is too low. When the keyboard is in an ideal position relative to your torso, the ideal tilt of the keyboard should actually be slightly negative (i.e. with the close side higher than the far side).

Really?  I didn't know that.  At any rate though yeah,  I usually have my chair lower than my desk.  At home I'm trying to keep it higher.  I'll try at work as well.

Well, first: do whatever is comfortable; if any change makes you feel any kind of discomfort, ignore my advice. :-)

But second: yeah, I find that regardless of the chair type (standard office chair, saddle chair, high stool, or standing with no chair at all) the most comfortable keyboard position is such that my elbows are at about a 90° angle or slightly more, my wrists are as straight as possible, and my upper arms are roughly straight at my sides. In such position, the keyboard has a slight negative tilt.
