I had been following the Fake BroCaps Discussion (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=64061.0) about the troll K3kc's plan to copy and sell counterfeit Bro Caps. I noticed that MiTo had posted there, stating that he "support this dude K3" (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=64061.msg1499475#msg1499475), and "if you want to boycott Cospar, go ahead."
I replied in that thread, and copied my reply to the Cospar IC thread (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=62327.msg1499479#msg1499479) that "everyone should join with me in boycotting this group buy." He later posted a challenge (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=62327.msg1500175#msg1500175) to the boycott. The thread derailed from there, with others joining the boycott, and MiTo calling us "flamers" and telling us to get out of the thread, even though he had instigated it with his previous posts.
Now, my first ever interaction with MiTo was during the PuLSE GB interest check (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=61822.msg1443754#msg1443754). That thread had already been derailed by MiTo himself, when he didn't understand about the Cherry Replica legends, and who owns them. BunnyLake had attempted to set him straight about those legends, which he took as a personal attack for some reason, and began his vendetta against BunnyLake. He then decided to switch the profile to SA, while admittedly knowing nothing about the profiles or sculpt of SP's sets. I (along with others) had to educate him about the subject, and I basically had to (figuratively) beat him over the head with the information in order to make him understand and to get a good end product (with a couple minor exceptions) for the group buy. Which is why I find it amusing that he now apparently thinks that people will buy his designs, regardless of a boycott on him. He believes that the things he says and does will be overlooked by the community.
MiTo has posted screenshots of comments on reddit that nubbinator made, because MiTo also believes that nubbinator has personally attacked him. So, since he is allowed to post those comments, I will post the comments MiTo (Lyqu1d @ reddit) posted regarding the events of late here at GH.

While I regret that some of my statements were reactionary, posted in the heat of the moment, and could possibly be seen as being a bit childish, I stand behind the meaning of my statements in those threads. I would again call for others to boycott any and all designs and products produced or sponsored by MiTo, until such time as he changes his attitude toward, and behavior on, this fourm.

The way that he has taken a single success to his head is a joke. Coming into a new hobby/community, you usually want to treat others with respect, something that Mito doesn't seem to understand. JD and Ctrl.Alt have done more for the keyboard community then Mito will ever do, and the fact that he went to name-calling and bullying after receiving critical but accurate advice for his original set shows how immature he is.

I hadn't known that the K3 incident wasn't the first time he had done something so bad on such a scale.
If he has repeatedly done such indecent things then I would have to condemn him with dire sorrow.
However I still have hope that he may eventually have a change of heart. This is the internet after all where it's easy to get lost in flame wars and your own foolishness

Not critiquing you personally, Frosty, but this train of thought is dangerous, in my opinion. Just because we're online does not mean we can or should throw common decency, common sense, and basic ethics/morals out the window. In fact, it should be the opposite. Here, we do not have the luxury of face to face interaction and many of the nuances of communication are lost this way. Because of that, how we conduct ourselves through our posts and PM is basically the only representation of ourselves in the cyber world. We should be holding ourselves to a higher standard; in fact, the community should never pander to the lowest common denominator. Ever. Instead of giving someone a way out by using the excuse of, "it's the internet", or "he/she is new", or "real life is hard right now", people need to be held accountable and man up. Ignorance is never an excuse and life is hard for everyone. While some may think that recent events have been a witch hunt of sorts, it's refreshing to see that there are some members who won't stand for the - in layman's terms - utter bull**** that's been spread around.

Unfortunately, I had already purchased the Pulse set before all this started hitting the fan based on it being significantly a set put together by JD. I already had a bad feeling of the guy based on his remarks about Nubbinator's beautiful Apollo GT keyset, but bit the bullet anyway since half of the keyboard stuff I own matches the Miami set and the pulse set has the same teal.

It's a sign of immaturity, in my opinion. I'm guilty of that in the past but when people smacked me upside the head and let me know what was going on, I tried to change. We've all probably let our ego speak for us at one point or another. Being able to and willing to change, is to me, the crux of the matter.

ive stated before, he makes 2 kinds of posts, being nasty or rude to people, or blowing himself, ive never come across someone so deluded, and through all the supporting pms i have had through this, im glad that opinion is shared by others

I'm not that 'old' in GH, having joined a year ago, but my experience here is very positive and it is definitely due to many great individuals in this community. To see a newbie like MiTo coming in and create chaos and unrest just for his own ego and personal gain is despicable. He's like a virus trying to infect a fun community and turn us into zombie so we can infect each other (I played too much games, lol) and while he didn't do anything unlawfully wrong to get ban, we as a community, should stand as one and not support or ignore him. When there's no support, he will naturally go away. If everyone stops ordering cospar, he will move on and continue to do his business in Reddit. That's the easiest way to get rid of a troll :)

That is true. However even though we should be hard pressed to filter ourselves on the internet, knowing that you can hide behind a monitor allows people to wild sometimes.
All of that said I just think that the way communication works through the internet is bull. Flame wars, misunderstood emotions, crazed uncontrolled outbursts, etc. just leads to so much chaos. I hope that this community is mature enough or has become more aware of these issues to further avoid any future ****storms.

I sold him a gasmask before all this nonsense. seemed kind of childish when he claimed to not receive it, even after tracking was confirmed. Turns out his mom had it with some of his other caps as well. :rolleyes:

Hehe, there are qualitative differences.
Ripster is Socrates. Loads of knowledge, would be easy to look up to if he didn't go around harassing people.
Mito is Nero. Displays infantile narcissism, critisism challenges his egoistic admiration, so he attacks to save his arrogant pride. I find it funny how amazing he thinks he is, and how he believes that he is someone special in the extended MK community.
My bet is that this guy (the guy with the big ego and low self-esteem) will be gone pretty fast. Ripster on the other hand, he has some super human dedication for vengeance.

I mean, the reddit sub is so clearly anti GH anyway thanks to Ripster that it probably acts more like advertising than anything else. More and more people who read the hate and anger on reddit will come to check out a fairly innocuous forum (GH) and can then see all the **** they posted (as it's mostly condenced into one or two threads) and will soon realise that Mito and Ripster just talk ****.

Where's the altruism now?
So trying to 'hurt' MiTo by boycotting his GBs feels like a bad move. And declaring that anyone who supports his GB, or expresses interest will be blocked from other GBs, that's ... that's a Ripster-ish move. We're the better community, let's prove it by not forcing people to choose 'sides', and by not withholding help.

Where's the altruism now?
So trying to 'hurt' MiTo by boycotting his GBs feels like a bad move. And declaring that anyone who supports his GB, or expresses interest will be blocked from other GBs, that's ... that's a Ripster-ish move. We're the better community, let's prove it by not forcing people to choose 'sides', and by not withholding help.

its just very difficult fighting an uphill battle against people, when tons of posts are being removed, information is being made to be scattered against many different threads and platforms, and then people form an opinion based on the limited info they have
i understand your stand point, and as you can see, i agreed with part of it and spoke out before you mentioned it
as people seem to not take what was written the way i meant it, im apologising to the community for sitting through this, and taking back part of what i said as i dont want innocent members of the community to suffer because of this, and i think that was a large part of your post
however let me be clear, im not apologising to mito in any way, he has bullied me for months, slandered me, spread countless lies, even to the point i had to have someone else format my post because he has gone so far out of his way to tell total strangers that i am apparently uneducated, all of my posts to him have been reactionary, its not the to and throw it seems from just observing here on gh, ive had threats and hatemail sent to me via pm, and as mentioned, lots of issues spread over several platforms
i am not banning people who buy his keysets, but i am fully supporting the boycott of them

nobody wants all this silliness and drama, it isnt good for anybody, i didnt want this to happen to me, i had felt belittled by this person for a long time, and sadly i did nothing when i should have spoken out earlier, unfortunately in light of the fake bro bot issue and mitos support for it, as well as him starting to attack other members such as JD and nubbs, i did snap, i said some things that were out of character for me, and not acceptable, that being said, to me, and how i felt, they were justified, just because we are online, doesnt mean this long standing harassment and embarrassment is ok, in banning people from ctrl alt who supported him, i did the wrong thing, i was wanting to punish him for my anguish, and not the community, so i have withdrawn that. it disgusts me what he has and will continue to get away with unless people speak out about it as they have done, sadly too many people look for excuses, ive heard a lot of people saying he is young, as if that is some sort of excuse, we have tons of young and upstanding members, who are not manipulative bullies, what he has been doing is calculated, and unacceptable
ive had a lot of support in both comments and pms, and im very grateful to everyone who has seen this for what is is, and given me words or support and encouragement, even though i was being reactionary, hot headed and overly passionate
please understand that this is a very sore subject for me, and as much as i want it to settle down, and not go on longer than it has to, its still upsetting, and id appreciate if people didnt post excuses or support for mito here in my subforum, i dont wanna censor your opinions, but there are other places to express them, this is my little area of the forum, the subject is open for discussion, particularly about what has already happened, but his actions are not defensible or redeemable in my eyes

And you have my support bunny, 100%, but I'm sure you already knew that. I've seen the bullying not just of you, but toward many others on here and reddit. Sometimes things strike far too close to home and it makes it hard to behave rationally and calm. It's especially hard when you have someone who always turns things around to try and make themselves look like a victim. So while snapping wasn't the right thing, it takes a bigger man to step up and admit he was wrong in snapping, even though the feelings behind the statements were completely justified.
In any case you have my support and a huge thanks for always being awesome. Hopefully people learn from this and move on and become more mature. Hopefully it causes introspection and a change for the better. And hopefully Moz's ceaseless optimism is not unfounded.

BunnyLake, hopefully you'll understand that I am nor supporting what MiTo has done or justifying his actions. I understand that the personal attacks must have hurt and your reactionary posts were only natural. I have always applauded yours and JD's actions and will continue to do so.

We're all here because of our shared interest in keycaps, and for that sake, we are often times willing to go the length to contribute our part, whether it's by designing, organizing, sorting, buying, or even spreading the word.
To have this animosity among us just means that we become smaller in number, and therefore weaker in our ability to realize our dreams (of the bestest keyboards ever).
It's truly most unfortunate for this to happen to our community. Teamwork makes the dream work.
