It looks like some later variant of the Model M with the Windows keys. But that's just a guess; I've never seen one of those before...

If that's an IBM, it must be rebranded - the L-shaped Enter and short Backspace point more towards East Asian origins.

'connie-sewer' for 'connaisseur', that took me a second...

Wrong, its just the larger ANSI Enter.

I thought the 'dropped' cursor T was interesting; I don't remember seeing that before. Is it a PS/2 connection and buckling spring, or something else?

I guess it's not an IBM keyboard at all.

The dropped T is common in "compact" 104 key layouts. Its dropped to remove that much space from the width of the keyboard, usually subtracting from the spacebar.

I'd be almost 100% certain that that is not an IBM board, although I remember seeing it while searching for a Model F on ebay, so maybe that's where you found it?

Probably it's a KB6551 made by NanTan sold as Chicony, Nantan, Zeos and more ( FCC ID FMAKB6551).
check  Scarry's listing. he often lists this one on eBay.
Mostly simplified alps white on a plastic face plate. not sure if real complicate alps/metal face plate version exist or not.

Could be, I'm not in a position to check right now due to restrictions at work.

found an Unitek version (http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Unitek-Space-saver-Keyboard-K-258-FCC-FMAKB6551_W0QQitemZ350203243636QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCA_Mice_Trackballs?hash=item5189bd6c74&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65:12|66:2|39:1|72:1240|293:3|294:50) which is tooooo much expensive even if it happened to have real alps.

I would get that if I were still into Alps.  Not the $99 one, though, but I would be on the lookout for a cheaper one.  I like that smaller layout.

I also like its enter key. The one thing that can irritate me a little on the Model M is the fact that I often hit the \ key instead of the Enter key after using typewriters and an old Gateway2000 with an AnyKey (I wish I still had it!).

Nope, that is the backwards-L Enter. And the |\ is between += and backspace, as can be seen from the photo. That pretty much proves it not to be an IBM.

EDIT: at least, not an IBM from after the victory of the Model M over the Model F.

EDIT: Here's one with that layout, although the keys are the wrong color:

I bought that one. ;)

Although I guess he said he had another one.

It has real simplified alps switches.

The Unitek one that I have uses original Alps, and looks like the one in the picture.
