Title: Long time lurker
Post by: onemoretry on Sat, 18 October 2014, 02:13:49
Hey guys,

Decided I'd finally make a post, been browsing this forum off and on for the last several years. My first mechanical keyboard was a Filco Majestouch with MX Blues 4-5 years ago, followed by a Rosewill RK-9000 with MX Browns. Recently had to RMA the Rosewill and received a new RK-9200BR as replacement. Tried typing on it for a few minutes but hated the cherry stabilizers so I ordered a Filco Majestouch 2 with MX-Browns and I am loving it. Closest thing to a perfect keyboard I've found. Anyways, looking forward to posting here in the future.

Welcome to Geekhack!

A Filco fan, then :)  Good to hear that they last the distance, as I have been recommending them for a while without actually having one myself, despite efforts to get hold of one of the limited edition yellow ones.  At least I managed to get a set of the yellow keycaps!

PS. Lurking for several years?

Hah I guess that sounded creepy. More like checking the website a couple times a year. Definitely a Filco fan. Disappointed that the Rosewill died on me, was a great board. I love the look of backlit keyboards, but not at the expense of cherry stabilizers.

There have been discussions about backlit keyboards with Costar stabilisers.  i think the general consensus is that the LEDs get in the way of the stabiliser bars, which is why you don't see too many of them.
