Title: Everyone on the internet is a hypocrite, discuss.
Post by: kmiller8 on Sun, 19 October 2014, 10:37:26
I ****ing hate every single one of you.

Just kidding, you guys are great.

ha, got you, it was sarcasm.

On a more serious note, seriously internet people, **** you, stick to something for more than 20 seconds at a time, sure circlejerking is fun, but only up until the point when people start taking it seriously. Just because the majority is complaining about something, if you agree with it, don't ***** out, stick up for yourself, let your voice be heard. Otherwise you're just another communist (Yes I mean communist in the negative way you white-knight plebs).

One thing I notice is that in every day life, I am not considered someone who is always extremely nice or pleasant. Not because I am not generally a nice person, but I admit that I do not go out of my way to make people feel at ease (work, my girlfriends friends, and so on).

But when on "the internet" where I try to conduct myself pretty much the same way as I do in real life, I seem to be an extreme nice guy compared to a lot of people. I do not curse, mock, troll, get into fights or any of those things.

This observation has always led me to sometimes suspect that a good portion of the people who are nasty online are the same "pleasant" people that you see in real life.

Though more likely, it is a self-selection of a-holes that are over-represented on any platform where you get an opportunity to be anonymously nasty.

What does that have to do with hypocrisy? Not much.

Interesting observations and I agree but hypocricy is usually a negative thing. So finding real life nice people acting like keyboard warriors is not a good example of hypocricy

As Tp once noticed he could always find the singular moment that turned particular peeps against him, or others, on this site. In my view, some people are born or made to be asswipes in real life and try to be even more asswipey online as that is the way to fit it with the elite class of asswipes, eventually leading to a hegemony of asswipes. My own problem is that you can only flush two at a time. But I know which two fortunately for the first flush. Point is that they came on with good intentions as all people in the world share the common desire to be liked except failed abortion asswipes.

Speaking of hypocricy as a subject of a thread, it reminds me of the way hippos sh*t a whole heap-a-sh*t. David A told me.

The internet is filled with  YOUNG people..

young people are generally more hypocritical, since they have yet to develop internal inflection.

they also behave in a way i'd like to describe as... "highschool"

that is,

-they are not self aware

-they are petty

-they are insecure

I wouldn't say they're bad people.. in the end, everyone is selfish when their lives are on the line..

but... there are people making the transition on the internet.. and sometimes nasty behavior exhibited by less developed individuals will drag people backwards into ineffectual behavior..
