Title: The best way to test NKRO
Post by: low-fi on Fri, 03 July 2009, 02:25:01
The Ur-Quan Masters (Star Control II for modern operating systems -- http://sc2.sourceforge.net) comes with an excellent keyjam utility that lets you press keys simultaneously and then displays all the keypresses that have been registered at the same time. It's not limited to letters as it also displays 'special' keys such as ctrl, enter and space.

If you're a gamer, UQM's utility is very useful for testing different key combinations. I'm posting this because I find the Geekhack's rollover test to be a bit too clunky.

I'll try to make a .zip file of the utility and put it on the Internet so you don't have to download the whole game if you're not that interested (I'd recommend the game too, though).

Or the one we've been trying to steer people to.

Oh, I haven't noticed this one!
The UQM's util works exactly like this one.
