Title: Civilization_ Beyond Earth
Post by: tp4tissue on Thu, 23 October 2014, 16:54:24
SOLID game..

played for a few hours now..

My only peeve is lack of UI scaling (like the rest of the civs)

If I play at my native 25x16 resolution, the text is too damn tiny to read..

Even at 1680x1050, the text is quite small

So I'm forced to play at 1280x800..  sigh..

Still.. I enjoy the game immensely..

I think I managed to pre-load it onto my computer without buying it...

I am so excited to play it oh my god. The possibilities going into a civ game is massive.

well, Mantle works pretty darn well... although you have to adjust desktop resolution manually to match the game.

Yeah I heard that aliens are tougher than barbs were in previous Civ games. Can't wait to try out the game myself!

yea there's the whole ants mentality thing, they just keep coming..

so if you attack them early game,  the smaller aliens will surround you,  and then the bigger aliens might block your passage for expansion

this is really bad early game, because you have NOTHING that can kill the worm..

it's on green man gaming right now for $37.. so if ya'll looking for a deal..

but.. overall.. I feel like... the military campaign is much more difficult now, because of this weird upgrade system.

so if you want a really good army,  you can't do that mid game, because all the pieces can't be put together until late game...

so you kinda just gotta swing it with a mediocre army..

Freakin'''.. I finally got the Planet-Carver.. it's this game's orbital ion-cannon.. and this thing DOES NOT destroy alien Nests ?

WTF.... wtf.. that is contrary to EVERY sci-fi canon EVER... (http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/onion-head/bad-atmosphere-onion-head-emoticon.gif?1292862489)

What a waste of resources.. here I thought My alien troubles were over..

just a heads up..  sometimes late game.. it will crash.. so save often..

also, late game.. sometimes you refine a tile, but the animation/tile refinements won't show up during the render process.. but the tile "is" refined..
