And this height 3000 series winkeyless gray color keycaps can be seen. .

They also have the F profile extra tall function row caps, the old 'hat' style double stepped keycap, plenty of obscure legends and more. Only thing that holds us back from getting old stuff remade is buyer demand.
That said... next buy is having some of those old style things as default, it's going to be ultra retro set to commemorate MX G80 1984 - 2014 anniversary. Set will be heavily inspired by models released in the first year of production.

Is this really happening? This would be awesome. What kind of old style things are going to be present on it? Will there be BoW too, or will it mostly be WoB?

white/black will be gotten around to eventually, but probably only some small add on stuff for harder to find keys and patch kits. It's still super easy to find basic sets on used market so I think new sets would be a harder sell.

What exactly is GMK capable of?

I ask because I’m curious whether some set of keycaps could be specially designed to fit the Ergodox or a similar keyboard. I think there could be a big advantage in skipping some of the standard rows, when making keycaps for a column-staggered keyboard.

After putting a desko set on my Kmac I think I actually prefer A profile over B.

GMK offers ABS only. While many row/size combinations are available for the keys themselves legends can be more restricted as the legend insert molds are set specifically for particular row/size combos.
I did attempt to offer a blank DOX kit once, but there was barely any interest. I just used the standard rows as found on typical sculpted sets though. E- B with A for the thumb keys.

I have used both the old and new MY switches, and had trouble typing quickly on either of them. You are right about the early MY switches being better than the later ones, though.

If someone made a tenkeyless version of the G80-3000, I would buy it!
