Title: Need help on Win 8
Post by: C5Allroad on Sat, 25 October 2014, 19:33:20
Started crapping out on me... Updated drivers to whatever the hell is the newest 344 something, start is back said I wasn't running an actual version so I pressed disable, still giving me issues on any input, now computer boots up, and goes into windows and does anything it would normally do. I managed to turn on the narrator, but now I don't know what the hell I pushed...

I'm not real sure what your actual issue is.  What drivers did you install and for what piece of hardware?  344?  Is that an nVidia driver?
If you are running Win 8, do you have the install disk?  If so have you tried a clean install?

Come on, dude. This is the nature of computing. New OS requires you to learn new things. The answer to every problem is not "Go back to W7"

OP, do you know how to repair your install?  W8 makes it insanely easy.

Its not even my computer lol.
I was on it and it, then it crapped out.
Funny thing is, if I go into the partition its one partition for windows.... Yet my little brother said a windows update got rid of windows 7 and put windows 8??? He doesn't know how he did, or what he did.
I'm not sure what happened to it...

I asked him if he has the windows disk that came with his computer, he lost it.... If I press F8 when booting up it beeps at ferociously. Lol.

okay...

i don't get what you're saying.

is your graphics fine or not?

sounds like your real problem is that you have narrator turned on.

press capslock + esc ar the same time.  that should turn off narrator

EDIT:

if you have actual graphics driver issues.

go to device manager, find your gpu, rightclick and open properties, and find the 'revert' drivers button.

I would.... But I can't see ****.
How do I turn on narrator without spamming each key on the keyboard and hoping I hit something that turns it on. I know how to turn it off. I also know how to give up and go to my moms house since I need to do homework and the man cave is here.

Not really sure as to what happened though. While I was reading the Crucible then startisback kept popping up saying the trial ran out and I should either disable or buy it... Then **** got real.
Windows 8 is bad...

just use your integrated GPU instead of the nvidia card?

to turn on narrator:

turn on cumputer

wait for it to boot

press enter (this will bypass the lock screen)

type in your password

press enter

type 'narrator'

press enter

wam-bam narrator is now on.  the same steps you would use to fix this on windows 7.  actually....you save the 'press winkey' step you have to do in win7
