Just got an FK1 today and regrettably Zowie's QC is still piss poor.
Are you of you guys experiencing the notorious, skipping (missed scrolls) scroll wheel problem?
-
Sounds like a defective rotary encoder to me... no way to repair those, you have to replace them.
-
No skipping for me, sucks to hear you got a bad one :(
-
It's a problem more common than it should be, sadly. For me, when I had my FK1 guts in the FK shell it was fine. Decided to switch back and suddenly scroll wheel problems. Put the guts back into the FK shell and no more issues. I wonder if that was just coincidence or if there was dirt or something I introduced when putting back into the FK1 shell, or if some slight misalignment occurred (and occurs when they're making them).

Oh no, :/ I've just ordered one from overclockers.co.uk, this is not good. Is this a common occurance?
-
a rather small percentage, but enough to cause a problem. the scroll wheels are pretty bad in general in Zowie mice, unfortunately. I don't think you should be worried though.

As far as I can tell, they do not use any kind of rotary encoder like alps, I saw some opened up EC1 and EC2.
Basically their mousewheels are awesome, becasue they use an optical encoder, they last for ever!
Unfortunately, from what I read about zowie mice. The wheels tend to wobble and are the weak spot.
I am looking for an EC1 in white to replace my IE3, and this is by far the only mouse which comes close to
the specs I am looking for.

I got mine replaced on Amazon and this one still has notches that aren't registering.
Think i'm going to have to contact Zowie directly.

Don't bother, Zowie customer support is not good. Just keep going through amazon or give up.

How long have you had the mouse? if I were you, I'd just contact Amazon and report the mouse as defective and get it replaced.

nope one of the lucky ones here with a flawless fk1
you have to return it no matter what :(its not repairable
always recommend you buy with amazon since they have outstanding customer service

They were total ****s to me when I tried to get them to sponsor a giveaway with /r/buildapc, and I even met with them in person. It doesn't surprise me that the CS sucks.

Another FK1 working fine here.
I still can't believe how bad their QC is... this just shouldn't happen so commonly.
Do they not test these products?

I dislike Zowie wheels of any generation. What works best for me is to remove the click and have a freewheel. If you don't mind to open your mouse it is very easy.

Just remove the little thing with the 2 springs. And if you don't like it, put it back in.

^ thx for tip.
Yes mine skips and is very stiff.
