Title: Lubing Topres (HHKB Type-S)
Post by: Sygaldry on Thu, 30 October 2014, 15:47:04
I'll be receiving my HHKB Type-S soon and had a couple questions:

First, in the event that I get a whistling Type-S, will lubing help get rid of the sound?

And second, would it be possible to apply the lube without popping out the plunger?

For some people, lubing both the stem and housing has significantly reduced, if not eliminated, the whistling. I suppose you could lube the plunger in situ, but that would probably have minimal, if any, effect.

Hmm, if the lube doesn't work, maybe whistle along?  Maybe you can get your HHKB to play a tune?  "Whistle While You Work" would be my choice.  But you can do what you want.
