The plate and the PCB line up under the function row? Or are the switches just temp mounted in the plate?I had to modify some of them to make it work but they still look crooked and some interfere with eachother... Sucks since I payed big$$ to get a working keyboard and the seller didn't inform me of these issues. Should I ask for a partial refund or what do you think I should do?
someone had a KMAC whose plate was crooked like that. It was replaced, IIRC.problem is that I don't think LZ has these plates anymore
0100010: if you look at it, you can see some of the alignment issues: specifically on F, V, etc.
Wow that's awful looking. I can't believe this plate is so jacked up. Is it bent or is that just a poor cut? How does this even happen on a laser cut? Those things are accurate to 10 micrometers usually. Are you sure you have those switches seated in there good enough? I'd start with the switches then work my way up. I have some alignment issues on my filco TKL that I desolder and resoldered MX clears. It's causing clearance problems with the arrow keys. I'm sure it's my screwup because it wasn't like that before. I need to desolder and resolder them to see if I can fix it. There is some tolerance / play in the switches when they're mounted on the plate.Yeah it's the cutting in the plate unfortunately, I noticed it in the beggining but I thought it was supposed to be that way:/ Looks like I need to contact lz about a new plate but I doubt he Will have a new one :/
That's really odd.No, something like this can't happen in shipping (if it's like that KMAC plate) I think it happens if someone bumps the laser halfway through.
I think I've seen it happen a few times in Kustoms, not just the LZGH. It's probably something that happens in shipping.
Different issue than I thought then.I was gonna but halvy didn't so I ain't either!
More tag that pic, it's disgusting.

Edit: It was halverson's KMAC. Check out the carnage:

Anyway, if it's a similar issue to that KMAC plate, then it'd cause the same issue and certainly isn't shipping damage.
If the LZGH used aluminium plates, I'd just get a better one made out of steel. I'm thinking about doing that with my skeldon.

Speaking of making things, where are the pics of my Dolch!?
ahem.
I think the LZGH is an Alu plate. I'd have to check, but I think that's right.

Just assembled my LZ-GH and I noticed that half of my plate was crooked... like the mounting points were way off, have anyone else had this issue with an LZ keyboard?
What do you guys think I should do?

I still have that plate :)
The lasering is the issue afaik, still got no contact with LZ tho, thinking of modding the plate to a 356.2 styleJust assembled my LZ-GH and I noticed that half of my plate was crooked... like the mounting points were way off, have anyone else had this issue with an LZ keyboard?

I've modded 2 LZ-GH keyboards and have not encountered this--everything fit perfectly.
