I'm not really sure if this has been mentioned before since it is impossible to search for. A lot of the older threads on geekhack that google finds have

;wap2 at the end of the url. This causes no css or images to load - it is just a white page with text. If you remove the flag then everything goes back to normal. I know there is no way to remove the wap2 from every old url but maybe it would not be so difficult to patch the code to ignore it and stop doing whatever insane thing it is doing right now?

I do too. But after removing 5 in a row it got annoying and made me want to ask about it :)

Hmmm, I think you might be right. I'm sure it was created for some reason such as old phone browsers or easy printing. I think the issue is that google is indexing that version of the page instead of the normal one.

With a quick google search I found out that you can modify the robots.txt file to tell google not to index those kinds of pages, but I'm not sure if that has other consequences. I'm not sure if the mods should do it but it is something to think about
