I am using my RealForce 87U on my Windows 7 laptop, however something strange happens when it boots up. For some reason when I type in my password it, incorrect, yet when I type it in from my laptop keyboard I login just fine. What gives?
I double check the key mapping once I am logged in and it's fine (everything typed is as expected), and I also tried locking/unlocking the laptop and it works there as well. Only noticing this strange behavior on boot up. :blank:
Can it be the wrong key mapping is being loaded at startup? :(

Figured it out, it's the Numlock key that's activated during start up which causes some keys to map as the numpad. Turning the numlock key off; everything worked as intended and was able to login.
Duh... :thumb:

This happened to me at work as well.. @_@

I was going to suggest that some Windows machines do a lazy USB initialisation, and continue to boot the OS even if the USB devices have not come up.
But if you've already resolved it - great!
And thank you for posting the results - it might help someone else with a similar problem.

Yeah it was odd as I dual boot my Windows laptop to Ubuntu 14.04 and Windows 7; the Ubuntu login doesn't turn on the numlock key during the login screen, but the Windows 7 does. <shrugs>
