Title: What games have you spent the most time on?
Post by: noisyturtle on Sun, 09 November 2014, 14:12:49: I was trying to think today what video game I've spent the most time playing in my life. While I'm pretty sure it's World of Warcraft, it's impossible to tell how many hours I've sunk into it since I played it like it was my job for years. But I came up with a few games that stick out in my memory for having played the **** out of them:

1000+ hour club honors go to Morrowind on the original Xbox which I think was actually closer to 1400+ hours when my Xbox finally croaked
500+ Castlevania Symphony of the Night was actually 637 hours according to my memory card
300+ hours runners up - Borderlands 2 / Skyrim / Dragon Warrior 7

if you count all "OG CS" hours, I don't even want to know. played on and off since beta 7-something. got a few hundred on csgo, maybe 100 on CSS as well.

TF2: 3.5k hours (over 3 accounts)
GW2: 1k hours
DotA 2: 1k hours (over 2 accounts)
HALO Reach: 800 hours
Pokemon Emerald: 500 hours

I think there's 1 or 2 more in the 500+ range for me, I like to stick to one game for a few years at a time. I got into minecraft really early in it's life and I played it in between maps/dungeons/games for like 3-4 years, as well as devoting time to it fully for a few months every year since indev, though much less so over the past year. DotA is my one love right now. I mostly play with a stack of Draskyl's subs/mods.

I usually play games that I have no way of tracking hours (console/pre-steam), so I don't really know what my most played games are.

But back in my prime I had probably 150 hours racked up on Minesweeper, so there's that.

Now, my most played seems to be Civ V (250 hours), followed by TrackMania (no clue how many hours, that would have tracked through x-fire).

I don't play much since quite a while...

But during my life, the games I spent the most time on is probably, in this order:

- Diablo 2 (Hardcore only and starting from scratch at every ladder reset)... I'm a bit surprised nobody mentioned that one yet.
- Counter-Strike
- Warcraft 3
- Warcraft 2 (we had a LAN cable, the old "thin ethernet" / 10BASE2 / coax ones, not the RJ45 ones, going from our home to our neighbour's home and we'd play WC2 like crazy... And I was also playing WC2 on Kali [LAN simulation over Internet])
- Ultima 3 and especially Ultima 4 and 5 on the Commodore 64
- "Sundog : The Frozen Legacy" (on the Atari ST)

I played many many games and surely forgot some games I spent lots of time on :thumb:

The game I spent most of my time playing is WoW, close to 50 days worth or something like that, last I checked.
BUT it had a mutual, positive correlation to the amount of money spent during that time which was next to none.

I don't have my account anymore (sold it for $10 lol), but I put sooo much time into Runescape. I actually played non-stop for an entire spring break and lost a bunch of weight. Since then, I've taken it a little easy on the vidya games.

Morrowind was 500+ hours on the Xbox then a fair few more on PC. Diablo 2 probably 500 hours, and going way back a couple of hundred in Age of Empires 2.

There have been numerous characters I had multiple days playing time that got deleted for a multitude of reasons though.

The vast majority of time is on my undead combat rogue which was my first toon in the game during the spring after release of the original. He has 140 days, 7 and a half hours play time.

Actually, I think I've wasted quite a bit of my life playing a ****ty mobile rhythm game (LLSIF, JP version), but I don't really have statistics for it.

WoW - easily 10,000 hours
SC2: Not sure, but 11,472 career games
D3 - 1,800 hours.
LoL - Maybe 1,000 hours(300 wins).
I think I'll just stop thinking about it there.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 - 1400 hours.
Battlefield 3 - 750 hours.
Battlefield 4 - 610 hours (ongoing)

Quake III Arena - Hard to say, I'd say about 1500 hours easily.
Counter Strike - Around 750 hours.

Tetris - Impossible to calculate.. been playing since I was like 7.

GameTracker doesn't have all of my Urban Terror time, but going by what it has, I'd say I'm probably around 1k in total there.

Post by: Moralless on Tue, 11 November 2014, 05:27:55: Just added up all my /played time in World of Warcraft and totalled up to 172 days (rounding down to the day) which is about 4128 hours and since I've been playing for (almost) 10 years now that's equal to 0.05 hours a day (3 minutes a day). But this doesn't include my playtime on my first account which got hacked when it was around 3 years old :p
