I'm becoming ever more lost in the world.
Met a bloke today who was out with his grandson of about 2-3. He reads the Daily Mail and is Anti-Europe and pro UKIP in a pushy in-desperate-need-to-be-validated kind of way... And he had his grandson in what amounted to a dog lead... Is this the norm now???
When I was a young boy, the world was a much more dangerous place yet I was never put in a dog lead when out with my parents... Is this just another tool to allow and sustain bad parenting? I can't even begin to imagine what would be the norm when I have children (don't plan on having any for a while yet)..
I bring up the daily mail because they are a newspaper in the uk that is essentially pro nanny state while also being anti-Europe, anti-gay anti non-white and generally very right wing... And also (worryingly one of the most popular papers in the uk)

The rich lives the same everywhere
The poor lives the same everywhere
Know this well.. and that each has their own agenda.. ti's the only differentiation you need.

What relevance does that have to anything?
Was the person who has his grandchild in a dog leed rich or poor? Either way does that mean that they are common and acceptable now??

Eugh... Just... Eugh...

There are too many people in the world.
The only way to treat such large groups is to assign each a unique identifier and then treat them like flocks of sheep.

Ugh, I despise Kids on Leashes. I think it's one of the worst ways to raise a kid. Seriously, I would have felt so humiliated if my parents treated me like a dog.
On the plus side, they can make for interesting people watching...
I can't comment too much on the UK-specific portion of this thread, sorry. Sounds miserable though...

One of the funniest, and sad, things I've ever seen? I was walking to get breakfast at a workplace which had a daycare. I saw a MEGAleash...16 children in this like sled-dog harness and a struggle daycare working trying to contain these little 3-4 year old kids who were trying to bolt everywhere.
Don't worry guys, you thought single child leash was bad? It gets worse. Your child can be part of a sled dog team. MUSH!
