Title: Pang
Post by: Blackehart on Mon, 10 November 2014, 13:22:21
So I have a ducky with tactile greys.
I'm experiencing something I haven't before with any other switch type (red, brown, black, clear, blue, green or whites).
I get a metallic pang from releasing the keys.
It is more pronounced the farther up that row is from the bottom of the case (it almost non-existent on the bottom row but more pronounced on the number row and the function row).

I just cut out some of that thick non-adhesive shelf liner and put that in. While it lessened the pang, I can still hear it.
is there anything i can do to get rid of it or is this something that i will have to live with?

Thanks,

-Blacke

That's usually from the springs. You can try oiling them, but it will more than likely continue to occur.

Welcome to tactile grays. All of mine make a 'spring' noise.

Just think of it as a feature.

well...

I could hear a ping when hitting a key that had one of the costar stabs.

The pang from the greys is different and "actually" sounds like a pang.

The tactile gray has a different sound than typical ping.

I really don't here pang when I type.  I here more of a pthunk.  Yes, a pthunk.  Then again I've had explosives go off near me more than I'd like to admit.  Maybe my hearing is a bit skewed.
