Post by: keyb_gr on Sat, 18 July 2009, 20:04:30
Listing (http://cgi.ebay.de/Kyocera-Tastertur_W0QQitemZ300330600180QQcmdZViewItem)
Has an interesting shape in any case (pun not intended). Never seen such a thing. Any idea what it might be?

For some reason it makes me think it uses Cherry switches.... but I've never seen that before.

The keycaps look suspicious. Integrated LEDs and strange rectangular cutouts could point to a Fujitsu Peerless board. The ferrite core on the cable is a bit unusual, I've got one as well on my Fujitsu Peerless board (Epson). Also, kyocera are Japanese, so it might be a Fujitsu Peerless board after all. But!
It's flat. That's quite unusual for a Fujitsu Peerless board, they're usually curved. Get the model number. If it's a Fujitsu Peerless, you'll know instantly.

It might well be an OEM'd Fujitsu then (the keycap color would also point to that). I imagine they offered semi-custom builds similar to Cherry.

It's baaack... (http://cgi.ebay.de/Kyocera-Tastertur_W0QQitemZ300332042970QQcmdZViewItemQQptZM%C3%A4use_Tastaturen?hash=item45ed2f4ada&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C293%3A4%7C294%3A50)
Not that interested myself. I still need something with SMK switches, and otherwise I prefer to stick with common Cherry boards. That Kyocera space ship is a little on the bulky side.
