With all this talk surrounding, you guessed it, Matt Taylor's shirt, I figured I'd see what peoples opinions were on the subject, and the subject of feminism as a whole. I'm not going to put the arguments from either side here, since I'm sure you've heard them many times before. But this, combined with many other recent events, helps to show both the hypocrisy that seems to pervade many people claiming to be feminists i.e. Tumblr feminists and how misdirected their criticism is. Instead of talking about the unarguable issues that women face, like equal pay and even basic human rights in some cultures, they choose to nitpick things like this. I'm all for gender equality, but many women (and at times men) seem to use feminism to force their own intolerance on others. But I also think that more voice needs to be given to women who are actually working for equality, not the tumblr feminists that seem to spread more hate than anything. But I guess the craziest yell the loudest.

I agree that pay shouldn't always be equal, because men and women, especially physically, are inherently different. But there are certainly plenty of instances where women are getting paid less for doing the same or more work

These procreative duties,, is a HUGE issue...... obviously, pretty much all women must engage in it..
How does this affect how Women -- WORK..
They take significantly less risks, and choose much more safely for both their bodies and investments..
Let me give you an example.. Car dealerships.. Male salesman will readily break the rules to sell a car to exporters.. Female saleswoman WILL NOT...
Males will therefore sell a significantly many more cars.. it's not the cars i'm trying to talk about here, it's the ideology and behavior of women.. Because they are very soft handed in the workplace.. they will NEver be as productive in that environment..
Now.. anyone can say, ok, This 1 woman works as hard as this 1 man .... therefore equal pay..
If we had the time to analyze and figure out exactly what every person deserves, we wouldn't need money or pay, just hand out precise baskets of fruit..
So, no we can't do that.. the best we can do.... is give GENERAL tiers of salaries, allocating slightly more to men, because in GENERAL, they are more productive @ work.

Like the OP mentions.. the feminist movement is rooted in Assumptions that women do equal work..
I agree while a woman CAN do equal work, but in general, WOM (EN) kind DO NOT do equal work..

If we are being fair to people regardless of gender or race based on their actual skill/ability what is the purpose of the term feminism? That is feminism, equality, and a number of other terms rolled into one easy to understand question. The term feminism is empty so long as people are treating each other fairly. There's no debate to be had... there's no reason to discuss the ugly or hateful sides of a group or ideology in relation to a benevolent cause because acknowledging the radicals as part of the same cause when their roots are firmly planted in different mindsets is insulting to more positive causes/messages.
So I have to ask. Why does this thread exist?
If you want to call out radicals. Please call them out by name and show how their ideology differs from anything peaceful, but don't drag a cause like women's rights (feminism) through the mud.

There arn't that many major dealerships from every state.. I've called ALL of them.. thousands and thosands of phone calls.. hundreds to each dealership
It is the case every time.. you get a chic,, no deal.. you get a dude, "how many u need, 5 ?, we got 3 slots for that, so I can only get you 2, and joey can get the other 1, is 3 ok ".. DONE..
It got to the point, where if I hear a female voice other than the receptionist, I'd just say, wrong number and hang up..

Yeah that's one thing that has shown to really never be true. In many fields women do work just as or more effectively as men and I'll continue to stand by that until presented with some definitive evidence that shows otherwise

This is clearly a bait topic, so I'll just say I believe the modern feminist has lost sight of what the movement stands for and have somehow morphed into over-sensitive fear mongers in the past decade or so.

Again, u guys are being highly targeted, in many fields.... how many is that.. is it all of them.. because if it's not..
Then we have to step back and look at the average again..
Because they have to take time out for babies... (most do) they can not possibly be as devoted to the Workplace ...
The average man, will almost always have his whole time available FOR WORK..
the average women, will almost always have to take SOME of that time to make babies.. raise children.. etc.
So then,, the men earns a little bit more... and eventually, that extra 20cents ends up in the mouth of the kid and mother anyway..

The evidence you bring to the table is anecdotal as well. I just assume that given the proper expectations anyone can do the work they are supposed to do if they are followers. Leaders will always present themselves so long as they are allowed to lead. This applies to all peoples.
Are we supposed to swallow your negative assumption or believe in people so that they are given a chance to succeed? Do you blindly put faith in someone because they are male? No. They usually have work experience. How do they get that work experience? Chances. They are given a chance and often make a ****-ton of mistakes before they are competent. Who can often be robbed of the chance to, let's say, work with tools less deadly than a kitchen knife but are more valuable for making a living? How you answer that question will show you what precedent is set and who is setting it, and who is being taught to live by it.

My take on the subject is not anecdotal.. it's not JUST me.. as if I'm the only guy that worked there..

That's why I have the bit about time allocation difference between men and women.. That is undeniably a major influence on their priorities.
