Title: Hello GH! Lurking is over.

Hello to my fellow clackers  ;D.
Just a new guy here, with no special keycaps or mods yet. Many to come.
My old board was a CM QFR MX blue, but I want to move away from loudness to soft feels, like the reds and Topres.

Let's have fun pushing buttons.

Pictured is a Filco Ninja MJ2 MX red.

Thank you for the welcome!

The money in my wallet aren't $'s... they are in K's! (keycap currency).

I do wish I tried Topre/ Novatouch as well, but I don't think I have regrets on this linear switch board.
I think I would have been missing out! Novatouch seems so cool with Cherry compatibility.

Anyway, I can always get is as my next board ^-^

Welcome to Geekhack!

QFR to Filco to Novatouch - talk about rising through the ranks :))

I like the "no special keycaps yet" bit :p

Thank you for the welcome!  Didn't think you'd come around here  :p lol.
If my sarcasm detector is working, I know they're considered the same by some. But to me this feels entirely different from the QFR, even with the similar (if not identical) components..
and and... I won the QFR in a facebook giveaway! I swear it felt like a much cheaper build...
I'm pretty sure if I gave more thought, I would have bought a Realforce 87U. That's my next buy anyway, just building MK appreciation!

You mean the QFR and Filco being similar?  Only in that they both have standard layouts - apart from that there are many differences.  Also QFR is a budget keyboard (but surprisingly high quality), and Filco is one of the deservedly more expensive options available.

I'd like a RealForce 87U 55g uniform.  With yellow keycaps :D

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's the Zowie FK1 is it not? If so how are you finding it? Big FPS gamer?

Ohh OK it's just I saw some talk about how they're similar - after using it, I definitely think they Filcos are in a different league though.

I would love a RealForce 87U... and btw is "55g uniform" a modded switch? or does it come standard in those boards?
Edit: I did a simple search through EK website and found there are multiple weights...! 55g sounds really nice though.

Yes! that's right. I'm really liking it and it's become my favorite mouse.

I'm originally from a MX518/G400 and the biggest difference is in the sensor. Some of these old mice are starting to show a gap in sensor technology.
Tracking on the FK1 is one of the best (only behind G502) and I can move my crosshair around with pixel accuracy. There's no need for software, so I can just plug and play.
It's the best no-frills mouse I've ever used, and there's hardly any flaws about it. The only existing flaw is some QC problems seen throughout their products.

If you like claw grips, or you are flexible with your gripping styles I can recommend it in a heartbeat. It's not big enough to palm for me, so I grip it with 5 fingertips.
The body is very flat, so if you like that palm support, you have to give it some thought.
I would consider this mouse only for FPS games though, it's not meant for RTS such as DOTA and the like.
Main reason being that the clicks are heavier than Omron switches so technically you can't click as fast.

Yes RealForce is available in 55g uniform i.e. all switches are 55g.  You can also get all 45g, or weighted where some switches are 55g, some 45g and some 30g.
