Title: Code V2b MX Clears
Post by: hijef on Thu, 20 November 2014, 00:36:39
I really like this board and the great thing about it is that it's compatible with most keycap customization. LOVE the switches, great feel. I was scared about people talking about how hard it was changing from blues/browns, but I have since moved on from those switches and use clears 5+ hours a day and don't have any finger fatigue. I can press the keys softer and they still initiate. Anyway, the only gripe I have with this keyboard is the stabilizers on the shift keys and return key. They make a bit of noise and some of things keys are a little noisy and make a very faint 'ping' noise. Unlike the cherry stabilizers, these stabilizers make a faint zing noise and the pinging of the keys is so faint that the only way you can hear it if your ears are very close to the board - so it's not really a problem. But as for the stabilizers, those are a bit louder and are definitely audible.

build: 8/10

Love the media keys, includes play/pause, next, previous, vol up and down.

Pictures? :p

You are experiencing the famous CODE ping - that seems to be about the only problem people report with this keyboard.  I'm kinda tempted to get one myself, with clears.  I really like the simple black and white theme.

Yup. Absolutely LOVE this board. Thinking of getting an 87 key just as a spare.

How would you say this board is compared to it's WASD V2 sibling?

The ping wasn't all too bad, but the metal stabilizers vs cherry stabilizers on this kb was very annoying. It is probably just me, but I traded the kb for a Race II because of the stabilizer noise.

I think it's the same board, but this v2b has backlighting. I could be wrong, but I have never owned a v2 board either.
