Title: Vinyl Dye Color Choices
Post by: ScienceGuy3 on Sat, 22 November 2014, 14:02:07
Hi, I'm new to this forum and have a few basic questions.  I'm planning on buying a quickfire rapid soon (the black unbranded version), and I plan to buy some of these doubleshot keycaps:

After I put these blue keycaps on, I would like to paint the case, and possibly the original modifier keys with some VHT vinyl dye.

This may sound like a stupid question, but what colors of vinyl dye do you think would go with these blue keycaps?  I think white might work, but I'm worried that the VHT dye won't be able to get the case white enough considering the outer shell is black.  I'm going for a two tone look here, so I don't want to paint the case just plain blue like the keycaps (I want some contrast).  So what do you guys think, what color should I use?

I can only guess a lighter blue. It might be easier to get good than the white. I've only used dye on keycaps before so I'm not sure how it works on boards.
Surely someone else has tried it?
Good Luck.

With enough coats, white vinyl dye will make the key totally white! :P
