First keycap of many to come.
I forgot to specify its marked "#01 prototype", because #1 correspond to future preorders.

Yeah, that's nearing rare clack prices.
Looks good for a first cap but I'll be incredibly surprised if anyone pays $350 for it.

It is the only one available to buy at this moment and maybe in a while. I gifted a couple caps of different models than this to members of the forum that will get posted when they arrive to them.
Regarding the specific item at sale: The metallic eyes edition and 4 colors are the most complicated to produce, maybe that one you're seen is the only one I do with those characteristics. The prototype was destroyed during molding, so that sculpture will last for whatever the mold grants. Its one of the first pours.
If you want different prices wait for the GH sale in a couple of weeks. It should have numbers along whatever the rest is usually charging, if that's your main prerogative.

how is it supposed to functiion as a cap and does it include mandolin crystals
-
Of course these are orders of magnitude more detailed and impressive than click clacks and other skull- and robot- themed key caps, but I would speculate that those products can be used and abused, just as regular keyboard components, for long periods of time, and will simply age and wear naturally.
The real key to the success of these artisan miniatures will be whether they can stand up to day-to-day use and abuse. As long as they are "art" pieces that must be protected, they may not be as desired as rough and tough replacement caps.
The ears are a big part of what makes the EL Chihuahua so stunning, but if they break off then the piece becomes almost worthless.

Best question so far.
The original sculpture used quartz in the eyes!, so mandolin crystal were there, but they ain't no more...
I couldn't find beads in the correct size without holes. Next time will use minerals for the eyes :).
Regarding fohat comment, I won't do many pieces as delicate as this and you're right. The ears are really troublesome, but If one aims to have them made to resist wear, it's not so hard (I didn't do it this time though).
The polyurethane resin has a low contraction percentage, so one could use galvanized steel wire as "armature" for structural flex limit inside. For added strength, a mineral filler could be added.
With those two regards alone, one could do a ballerina suspended in one toe from a keycap. A pinky toe.
