I make sense all the time..

But yea..  serious issue..  farming is damn hard, and it's one of those things that will take at least a year..  depending on when the CME hits us..   early fall would be worst..

there's the oil reserve,, but we don't keep an appreciable food reserve.. certainly not a year's worth..

Once the collapse of social structures happen, which will probably be only a week in..

We're gonna have to hide away our stuff.. because there will be pandemonium and looting, and rape gangs..

hrrrmmm....  it'll be worse than zombies, since zombies are stupid... human gangs are not..

The only adequate way to prepare, would be Local prep GROUPS,  because there's no way you can defend yourself with say just ur family unit..

and you'd need quite a sturdy compound.. because they could easily set things on fire in the USA, as everything's made of wood.. sigh......

i think we're probably all just gonna die..

Don't take life too seriously. You'll never get out of it alive.

I mean.. as a realist yes... but as an optimist.... Maybe Perhaps Possibly Tp4 gets uploaded (http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/onion-head/ahaaah-onion-head-emoticon.gif?1292862489)...

Heck maybe Tp4's not even real... perhaps I AM a machine that's merely living in a dream state as human.. (http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/onion-head/running-onion-head-emoticon.gif?1292862517)

Nah, you guys will be fine. You've got plenty of farmland, adequate water in most regions, an educated population, and lots and lots of guns and ammo.

I will not be fine. I live in a country where we import everything, most of which are from a country that loathes us because we're secular, non-Muslim and multiracial. We live in a tough neighborhood full of poor and resentful people, one third of the population are uneducated migrant peasants working as cheap labour who really don't like their lot, our population is meek and submissive and devoid of initiative with no weapons, our rulers depend on an army of several thousand Gurkha mercenaries to keep down the populace. The government and military consists of nerds who never had real life experience, nobody has any understanding of leadership and serving the people because they are too busy trying to make money from their political power.

If we had CME, in 1 month most US urban centers will be burnt and looted out shells but 95% of the population would still be alive and 90% would probably survive into the next harvest after which things stabilize. It will also be a good time to be Amish, and I predict every state will be begging its Amish to run for senator.

I predict that 90 % of Singapore's population would be dead or fled within 1 month, the island will have less than 1% of its current population within a year before things stabilize. Since we were a net food importer even with 60,000 people only in the 1860s when there was plenty of countryside still, I have no idea what's going to happen once food supplies are cut off.
