That is one black as theme.
Dark theme is much easier on the eye..
Here full screen this screen shot.. and compare it to the page you're looking at right now..
You can read both quite easily.. but the black allows your eyes to relax

Is your display properly calibrated ? if your contrast point is too high or your gamma is too low, the grey on black won't be very visible..

Hrrmm.. well der's the problem.. hehe..
Worry not.. Ok.. if you're FINE with how the color intensity look on your computer, then you can skip gamma.
Just change the Brightness and Contrast..
So
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php
on the black page INCREASE the brightness from your video settings (don't use the hardware setting on your screen, they work differently).. until you can faintly see box 1
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/white.php
on the white page.. LOWER your CONTRAST setting form your video settings, until you can see the pattern in the last box on the bottom right 254..
if your video settings break into Channels like rgb.. just adjust them evenly..

I have my GH theme set to the garish white and orange theme because I think it's awesome.

lagom.nl is great.
TP4 quit using utorrent already.
season 7 of what now?
also: one of my monitors is far reading Gh and IRC and is really old and not calibrated. The other one is newer, much better and is properly calibrated. I can see box #1.
Finally: low contrast themes area really great for some uses. For example my shone saves a ton of power displaying black on dark grey, and I don't blind myself when I read at night.
-
Things I have learned today: both my monitors suck; I can't see black box 1 on either of them. But the one I thought actually sucked, ended up doing better in the tests. Go figure.

Those test don't tell you if your monitor sucks...
It can SUCK, and still look pretty decent once calibrated properly.
THose test just tell you whether you're well calibrated.
