Title: Tex aluminum 60% cases
Post by: Barracuda on Tue, 25 November 2014, 19:07:52
I just saw thst you guys have restocked on the tex aluminum 60% cases, but I have some questions.
1. Are these the old version (with front lip)  or the new version (like those from massdrop, without a front lip)?
2. Do they come with aluminum feet, or with pre-installed screwholes for aluminum feet (so you could add them yourself) ?

Thx,
Barracuda

I emailed them and customer service guy Justin Sweet responded " Yes, it does feature the thick front design." He didn't respond about the feet though.

Any way we can get the aluminum feet?

Any way we can get the aluminum feet?

I tried a while back. In the end I had to order them from Korea and decided to go a different route: plastic ball that separates into hemispheres and velcros onto the bottom of my case.

Well that's slightly annoying considering the Massdrop cases came with the feet. Where did you find them from Korea? Was it from GON?

Yep I think it was. If you went that route you will have to drill and tap your case yourself if it doesn't already have holes. I have an m4 tap but no m2 which is probably the screws they use. :-/

If you can find a case with feet i highly recommend it. I have them and it is perfectly balanced. love the TEX i got off massdrop.

Barracuda what did you decide to do?  If you order some of GON's feet, let's go in together and maybe save on shipping.

I got my case from mechanicalkeyboards and you were right. The new revision doesn't have the holes tapped out :c.

I decided to get them without the aluminum feet. I'm not planning on buying the feet,  since that  would mean that I have to drill the holes for the feet myself, and I'm not that confident in my ability to drill on a 100usd piece of aluminum ;)
