I have this monitor and for productivity, I think its one of the best deals for the money. It has good color reproduction, anti-glare screen, IPS panel, and the hard to find 16:10 ratio. I've used it for gaming and its pretty good, but not as nice as the newer 144Hz ones.

This isn't really a good deal...

I like the Samsung PLS rebrand monitors better.
For those who want to buy name brands, there's http://slickdeals.net/f/7433098-27-acer-k2-series-2560x1440-ips-led-monitor-275-w-visa-checkout-free-ship-newegg
The 4K monitors are also not that much of a premium right now, but TN though...

The 30Hz is the deal killer. I've tried the cheap Dell 4K that is also 30Hz and its noticeable even when not gaming. I think these won't be around very long. They are just an attempt to grab the early 4K rush by offering a cheap option.

30Hz is noticeable but personally I am used to it - in fact I still have a couple of T221s (3840x2400) running at 24Hz. At the time (a couple of years ago) the low refresh rate was an acceptable tradeoff for the high resolution. You can improve things a bit by tweaking the video driver to turn off vsync, which makes the mouse pointer smoother at the expense of some theoretical tearing.
These 4k monitors do run at 60Hz when you drop down to 1920x1080, so you could use that for gaming and have the crisper resolution for work. Whether the lower refresh is acceptable partly depends on what your work is; all I'm saying is don't dismiss it out of hand.
